Kirara is a beautiful boy but he HATES being mistaken for a girl. He wants to be a strong and manly guy like the 2 neighbor boys: Kyouichi (eldest) and Ken-kun(youngest). The two brothers are known as the rabid dogs of the neighborhood bc they fight with anyone and are hella strong. According to plot, kyouishi picks/seeks out fights and Ken just kinda got mixed up in them. But they tend to fight for worthy causes like if someone is getting bullied. Their reputation precedes them tho and ppl think they’re strong dangerous delinquents (kyouichi a little). Anyways, they move into kirara’s neighborhood bc their parents divorced and they decided to stay with the father. Why? Well, parents divorced bc the father realized he was actually gay. Since it would be hard for the mother to start a new life/family with kids from her previous relationship, the brothers decided to be the shackles burdening their father. As a result of the divorce, they hate their father and are homophobic. When they move into the neighborhood, kirara immediately takes a liking to them and wants to be just like them, thus he follows them and involves himself in fights. The brothers think kirara is a funny kid, albeit also very pretty looking. Kyouichi thinks nothing much of kirara other than he’s a funny weird kid that sees him as an older brother. Ken-ken, however, starts to really like kirara early on. Ken doesn’t understand these feelings, and starts to hate his attraction towards kirara. Since he is homophobic, he seems to self loathe, in a way. During their middle school days he starts to go out with older girls. We learn that this was his attempt to cut himself off from kirara and to, i guess, “stop being gay”. In the earlier chapters he stated he only went out with them bc they came into him and he was bored and decided to kill time. Later chapters he reveals he was just trying to separate his feelings and himself from kirara. Unbeknownst to him, Kirara ended up developing feelings for ken. Kirara fell in love with ken’s gentle and kind and caring side, when tho ken is 90% of the time a jerk towards him. Kirara harbors these feelings with guilt after learning that the brothers hate their father and hate gays. Kirara tries to love ken from a distance but he finds it difficult to. When they enter high school, Kirara and Ken both can no longer contain themselves. Ken abruptly kisses kirara and blames him for what is happening to him (his attractiveness to kirara). Kirara is confused bc he doesnt want to have high hopes if ken is just using him as a replacement for a woman—since he knows ken is homophobic. But in the end ken kisses Kirara again bc apparently it looked like kirara wanted it (he did). But its confusing bc is ken homophobic or not? does he like kirara or not? eventually a new flashy student arrives and confesses to kirara. this shakes things up as he states that he’ll make kirara happy and is serious about dating him. Kirara is headstrong about his affections for ken and rejects the flashy dude. Meanwhile, ken becomes more of an angry sourpuss towards kirara bc kirara confided in him that he’s liked someone since they were very littlee. But before Kirara could continue with his confession , ken shuts him up bc he is misunderstanding and thinks kirara was referring to kyoishi. he is starting to think that Kirara likes his brother kyouichi since they were children. On a rainy day, he coincidentally bumps into the flashy guy. Flashy guy states he got rejected by kirara bc kirara likes the other brother: kyouichi. The flashy guy only says this to ken in order to make him jealous bc he hates him and wants him to know they’re in the same boat with desiring kirara. Ken is annoyed and pissed off with the flashy guy and says “I knew already!” and walks off in the rain. As he is walking alone in the rain, Kirara notices himz Kirara motions for him and they have a misunderstanding conversation where ken rudely states he knows kirara likes his brother kyouichi. Kirara is super confused and says “The one i like(and have liked since we were kids) is YOU!” And thus ken is taken aback. The object of his affections has confessed that HE is, in fact, the one Kirara actually likes. They embrace and kiss. They now begin to go out and its very nice. Ken continues to be a sourpuss but his possessiveness and blunt attitude dont change. We see their experience as a new couple and their jerjer. Meanwhile, Kyouichi meets someone with a son (not rly his son. the dude’s sister and her husband died and he decided to adobt the newphew). They get along and he helps look after the child. During their conversations the guy admits he is gay and always wanted a child, which is why he adopted his nephew. This new friendship helps Kyouichi understand that his hatred for his father and his homophobia were unwarranted and ignorant. He learns ti let go of these negative emotions, as does ken with his realizion its ok to be gay and love kirara. Kyouichi knows that the guy likes him (its kinda obvious), but he does not know what to really do. He doesnt mind it, but thats about it. Ken asks him “what about you? do You want to go out with the guy?” but kyouichi doesnt know. He asks the guy if he’s ever had sex with a man. The guy is taken aback and a little upset by this question bc thats none of kyouichi’s business honestly and it doesnt concern him. Kyouichi seems insulted? bc he states “Of course it concerns me, you like me dont you?” and the guys is again taken aback bc bruh what. He then asks kyouichi “Ok and what if i say yes? Would you then start going out with me, a man?” Which is a valid answer bc why ask if u have no intention of going forward with it, you’re just being nosy or whatever at that point and not being respectful of the dude’s feelings. Kyouichi doesnt know how to respond. The guy asks him to leave. Afterwards the guy feels not good bc he thinks kyouichi hates him now and will stop visiting. But i mean, this is a good thing bc in reality, its better to cut off contact if the person catches feelings and you know you can’t reciprocate. But continuously being with the person will only hurt them bc they’ll just keep liking you. Ken then tells kyouichi to basically think about it all and decided from there. Kyouichi still doesnt really know.. But he surprises the guy and asks to talk. He states, after thinking it over, he still doesnt know what he wants to do tbh (understandable since hes been hating gays his whole life and only just recently realized he was in the wrong. but he doesnt mind the guy liking him so..) BUT he wants to try going out with the guy. Bc, why not. Idk. Lets see. Basically is what he is thinking.
