The Newbie Is Too Strong
Maaaaaybe good? Need to give it more time as I'm not quite caught up to raws. Guy uses some crackhead logic to get past very dangerous monsters, it works. He's now rising up the ranks in a slightly more traditional fashion but still does something strange occasionally.
Standard of Reincarnation
Started off strong, but long term it doesn't stick the landing as well as I hoped. There's still time to recover once he gets proper OP.
Helmut: The Forsaken Child
Pretty good. Don't care for the seed of darkness stuff but I've always had a soft spot for characters that grew up isolated and learn about people along their journey. This one wasn't completely alone though so he has a decent bit of common sense, just less so when it comes to society as a whole. Like his personality too, calm and reserved but not afraid to stand his ground.
The Novel’s Extra (2022)
Slow start that earns it's 5* rating as it goes on. MC is servicable, so are the side characters. He has his moments (particularly in comedy) but the main appeal is going to be the all around plot. Original novel seems fairly interesting based on what we've seen and MC's powers are pretty all encompassing which makes you curious on what he'll do next. EDIT: It improves quite a bit as time goes on, MC turns out to be a pretty fun character, for one. EDIT: dropped. They really went with the magic child of MC and a girl spawns trope. It's giving harem and I wasn't really loving the recent chapters anyway.
Warrior High School – Dungeon Raid Department
I'd give it a 5 if they weren't constantly throwing someone that might 1-up mc in. We haven't had enough time to bask in his op-ness for things like that to be anything other than frustrating. Especially when he gets help from someone established as weak. There's still hope for this to be a slow burn with payoff despite it looking like a strong from the start story. His personality has to work overtime to compensate for the lack of interesting abilities, meant to be a high school student but acts like a hardened man who's accepted that the world runs on money. It's kinda fun to watch and something I haven't seen pulled off seriously much.
Archmage Transcending Through Regression
Sweet, MC is out here to get shit done. Just the right amount of serious and cunning mixed with confident and a little crazy. The magic isn't utilized as much as you'd think but I think this may change and what is there is fairly in depth. Fun side characters with some genuinely good gags.
Never Die Extra
I weep that MC isn't going to be a mage, and OG Evan seems so cute I wish I could have a strong airheaded MC in one of these. Women exist but they don't take up too much screentime and MC shows no interest so it's fine. The other side characters aren't revolutionary but they're nice to have. We have some light mystery going on about if he's in the actual game or if the game's world is real but I wouldn't expect much progress with that for now, otherwise the plot is just him getting stuff and strength so he doesn't die.
Dungeon Odyss
I like the dead eyes bored look MC got, it's cute. He can be really cool or hot sometimes too though. The lil Naga lizard guys are adorable and even the big ones are so wholesome I love them all. It can get a bit dark sometimes though, one of the soldiers dies and another permanently lost an arm. They give a whole sob story to a guy that gets killed minutes later with all his comrades and it hits hard. MC doesn't exactly get emotional but he does seem to like them. Good system, MC hides his power but does cool things in front of an audience often enough to satisfy that itch.
Youngest Scion of the Mages
Not as addicting as my 5 stars generally are. There isn't just one clear flaw, it's more like every aspect is slightly below the benchmark.
Overbearing Tyrant
