Limited Lovers

Complete | Yamada | 2000 released

✿ Limited Lovers - After an accident, Karin loses her ability to walk. During her stay at the hospital, she falls in love with the doctor, Okita Teppei. Once she's discharged, she buys Okita's house and makes a deal with him, a sort of "master x servant" type of contract: he can still stay there, but on the condition that he spends two hours with her every day, until she graduates from high school... ➸ I really liked this story! The plot caught my attention and I think it's good, indeed. Also, I found many elements that I love, especially "Age Gap", "Doctor x Patient" and "Slow Romance". I liked both the female lead and the male lead (Okita sensei's so hot, of course I loved him! xD) and I liked them as a couple. I loved their interaction and I was eager to see how their relationship would develop! But the most important aspect is the characters' growth through the story. The message is to keep going, even when life give you a bad surprice! Before the accident, Karin was a typical spoiled rich girl, who wasn't really happy (her parents were always away for work, her "friends" stayed with her out of convenience...), but then, through many hardships as a disabled person, she slowly became a strong woman. She finally found her dream, that of becoming a masseuse, and her place in life. Teppei, who actually had split personality, also developed as a character and it was Karin the one that made his internal clock start clicking again. So, they moved forward together: I loved how at the end Teppei reopened Okita Hospital, left to him by his deceased father, and Karin said that later there'd also be a massage center there. "You heal a person's health and I heal their body". Well, difficulties still awaited for them, but I'm glad they didn't give up! ➸ A heartwarming ending for an inspiring story! TBH, I hoped to see them getting married, maybe with a time skip after her studies overseas! But I think it's already great as it is, so I'm satisfied. 。^‿^。

Hana o Meshimase

Complete | Iwashita Keiko | 2000 released

Flower shop owner (25) x Highschool girl (17), live-in employee at the flower shop. ≪•..•≫ "Both you and the flowers taught me about the beauty of love" - Actually, their encounter enriched both Shion and Shun: they learnt something from the other and helped each other. I really liked the characters and the pace of the story. The art style is really nice, beautiful I'd say, and it matches well with the atmosphere of this heartwarming story. I loved every little detail, especially about flower arrangement and the language of flowers / Hanakotoba. As I love flowers, I'm also fond of the thought that they carry feelings that can be conveyed without using words. >> The plant Shion / Aster tataricus means Remembrance: it's so sweet that Shion chose this plant to convey her true feelings to Shun~♡

Complete | iketani rikako | 2000 released

Collection of two stories: A Small Sheep Dreams (Ch 1.1-1.2) - Divorce // Stepfather x Stepdaughter // Age Gap // Family Drama // Cohabitation // Post-Secondary Student Spring Rain Diary (Ch 2.1-2.2) - Infidelity // Breakup // Friends Become Lovers // Boyfriend x Ex-girlfriend's friend // Young Female Lead // First Love // Puberty I liked both stories. They're unique and I found them interesting. At first they may seem "odd", but they are good and I feel I read something different. They have an original touch, indeed. The art style is unique as well.

Usagi Drop

Complete | Unita Yumi | 2005 released

Slice of Life // Childcare // Single Parent // Family // Cohabitation // Guardian Relationship // Age Gap // Smart & Strong Female Lead // Time Skip ו•× 79 y.o. grandpa had an illegitimate child!? - Daikichi (30): "So mom...that makes her your little sister then! Which makes her my aunt..." haha what a bizarre family circumstance! ➸ Heartwarming slice of life story about a man who decided to raise a little girl on his own. The core of the story is exactly about the hardships a single parent has to go through, raising a kid. The story highlights also other realistic issues about particular family circumstances, such as divorce, adoption, abandonment of a child, reencounter with birth mother etc. In particular, ch 1-24 (adapted into anime and live-action) are about Daikichi raising Rin, putting his life into it and making sacrifices for the little girl. Then after a 10 years time skip, the story takes a certain direction, which not everyone may welcome. Personally, I loved this story, because it's so sweet, especially at the beginning: little Rin was simply too cute! I liked it till the end. I was curious to see the development of their relationship. But at the same time, I'm not completely satisfied with the ending, as I wanted to see more about how their future will be. [Spoiler] It's not incest: Daikichi's gandpa adopted Rin, but he wasn't her father, so Rin and Daikichi aren't related by blood. Well, it may still be unconfortable if you think about the fact that Daikichi, after raising Rin as a daugther for 10 years, becomes the young girl's love interest...and also their huge age gap, but imo the story was pure and sweet till the very end (and actually there isn't even a little kiss)! Also, Daikichi was conflicted about it and said that he never thought about Rin in that way, so I don't think of him as a perv who raised a little girl just to think of her in a sexual way later! He isn't that kind of man! Of course, this is my opinion, but I think that if one takes it for what it is, a fictional story, overall it's good and nice to read.

Ani To Wa Koinaka Nandesu Ga.

Complete | kurosawa shii | 2014 released

Collection of two stories: • Ch. 1-3 I don't know my brother / I have a love relationship with my brother - Sui's beloved step-brother Shinichirou, who moved out when he started college, returned home after a little more than a year, but now his appearance is different from before: yakuza-like, dyed hair, ear piercings and even a tattoo!? Also, about a year ago, he dropped out from college. To sum it up, he looks like a different person! >> Wah~ We have pure and genuine feelings here! I really liked the beginning, how they interacted right after their reunion and the pleasant, slow pace of the story. But, regarding the plot, I think at first it started good, but then it went downhill and became kinda random and not really interesting, especially in the third chapter with that new friend from school coming into the picture out of nowhere. Overall it was still a nice and enjoyable step-brothers story to read, but, while it was cute, it was also kinda bland. Also, it felt more like shounen ai than yaoi. Anyway, siblings' reunions always leave me with positive feelings: they can be cool, touching etc. In this case, it was so sweet and heartwarming~ [Spoiler / Note for me] The big bro wanted to be a cop but, being color blind, he had to give up his dream and, to remind himself that it was really impossible, he even got a tattoo. • Ch. 4-5 The novelist's love is troublesome / The novelist's boyfriend is troublesome - Novelist // Gay Uke // Friends become Lovers // Adult Couple // Straight Seme (First time with a guy)
