Shinigami wa Korosenai
One of my favourite kinds of stories with a supernatural element, a protective and powerful MC (as the seme here) and beautiful artwork. It feels like there is so much potential for more from this story though. Like why Caleb chose to save Eiji? Explore a potential fated mate scenario. Still, it was really lovely for me and I would happily recommend it.
Suijin no Hanayome
This was brilliant; an irresistible story that kept me coming back to see what’s next and whether that cold facade of the Water Dragon God would slip and hint at a feeling. I loved the FL Asahi. She was vulnerable yet strong and was not one to rely on a man (or God) to save the day. Ofc I loved Suijin. His everything revolved around Asahi long before he realised. Same for Asahi with the Water Dragon God. Wonderfully intense, moments of heartbreak, an epic love story. One to re read over and over, so I better buy it.
Galge no Sekai de Shinyuu ♂ ga Ore o Sukida to Iidashite!?
Childhood besties get stuck in a romance game and can only leave when all the conditions are met; especially falling in love. But while Momose Aoi starts dating the girls in the game, Okamoto Ritsuki decides it’s time to let his thick headed friend know that the girls aren’t the only option for love. And also, that sometimes friendship is not enough.
Ikemen Sengoku - Tenkabito no Onna ni Naru Ki wa Nai ka
Oda Nobunaga is the Demon Daimyo of the Sixth Heaven, the destroyer of Shinto and Buddhism and fated to die at the Temple of Honno-ji. Only in this story, this warlord of the Sengoku period finds a new destiny in the hands of transmigrated Mizusaki Mai, a young woman in her 20s from 500 years in the future who lands in the past and saves Nobunaga from the fires of Honno-Ji. I love this era and was happy to see Nobunaga become the Great Unifier of Japan and get to chase his own HEA with someone who loved him wholeheartedly rather than missing on seeing his vision come to fruition. This story was sweet thanks to the influence of the FL who wasnt a pushover and played to her strengths in this war torn era. Nobunaga’s gradual conquest of Mai was adorable and overall I really loved their romance.
Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu
These characters all attended the same girls high school and the stories were intertwined with rivalries and friendships. I thought the couples were adorable, the art lovely and the romances sweet yet sexy. Add some humour and laughs and enjoy reading about these adorable couples.
Sultan’s Love
This was a sexy, hot story that was also wonderfully romantic. Saye was a concubine in the sultans harem who had grown up in captivity by staying as hidden as possible. Prince Kainer was the 9th prince and the one who would lead a bloody revolution to overthrow his father and claim the fragile beauty he had fallen for. Saye and Kainer fall for each other wholeheartedly in this story and the balance of sweet romance is given a steamy boost with the hot lovemaking scenes. I loved the brutality and intensity of Kainers love too. Serious alpha possessive mode, this guy would literally slay any who look upon his love, let alone touch her. Being a sultan he could get away with that degree of possessiveness because of his position and the era the story was set in. Also because his love and gentle side were only for Saye too. Not too long, this story was a perfect old style steamy romance.
Heart-Pounding Excitement at Mononoke Girls' A...
A school for monsters set in the other world has an unexpected human student, Arare. Trapped with every form of yokai imaginable, Arare embarks on her school term with an adorable degree of positivity and enthusiasm. Soon she falls for a cute nekomata but there are some unexpected dangers to bonding with a yokai. This story was fun, full of cute moments and sexy characters.
Samurai Lover
A fun romp with a time displaced samurai from the Meiji era (Aza Kaneatsu) and the college student grandson of a temple priest (Higaira Ikkei). The only way for Kaneatsu to return to his own time is for someone to fall in love with him. Unconcerned if that person is a guy or girl, Kaneatsu turns to Ikkei and demands his love. So starts the fun with this story that doesn’t take itself too seriously and two adorable guys who will find out that love has a time and place, and is best spent together.
Masked Woman
Secretary to a demanding CEO and budding author Eom Boran, is the FL with an intense dislike for her boss. Kwon Sehu is successful, talented and handsome. He is also bossy, with frighteningly high standards and did I mention demanding? When Kwon’s nephew wanted to meet the author of his favourite book he put out every effort to find the reluctant author who was hiding right under his nose. Only what would happen when he realises that the villain in the book is based on him? I thought that this story was sweet. The FL was no damsel seeking a man. She was a professional woman who justifiably disliked her boss. But as they got to know each other better he showed his vulnerable side and greater understanding of each other led slowly (for her) to love. I thought the ending was particularly satisfying. This is a recommended read.
