Happy Omegaverse
Former gang leader of vigilante group GENBU, Takemoto Tetsuji (alpha) is in the midst of rehabilitation and training to be a chef at a small Japanese restaurant. One evening he saves a newbie office worker in sales from being harassed by a workplace client. For the sweet and amiable 20yo Kaneda Takumi (omega), it was like being rescued by a hero from the pages of his childhood, and he fell instantly in love with the tall Tetsuji. However, Tetsuji had trauma regarding omegas and was unable to have sex with them. This lovely story follows the gentle friendship that blossoms between alpha and omega amidst some turbulence from the past and the crazy influence of pheromones. I loved how Takumi valued the kindness in the scarred and rather intimidating looking Tetsuji. The art was also great, adding to the whole awesome Omegaverse package.
Park Hanhoo's Manager
There’s a reason that this is so highly rated, and that’s simply because it’s marvellous. Set in a fictitious country that gave the author a lot of freedom with mixing the criminal, business and political worlds, this story had an intriguing plot and great characters. With the kind Chansol, haunted by a devastating past and the dangerously unpredictable Park Hanhoo, a man whose only weakness was Chansol. Simply put, this was *chef’s kiss
Muchi na Boku to Waruikoto
This was such an interesting delinquent story. Taichi attended an all boys high school that was full of rough and tumble delinquents. Oddly enough, they viewed this gentle crybaby (and pervert magnet) as their leader. Something that Taichi thought must be teasing, because there was no way he would fight. But how to explain his busted knuckles and bruised body? Turns out Taichi has an alter who takes over and destroys anyone who threatens him. When Taichi runs into the head delinquent of a rival high school, he finds not an enemy but someone who is fascinated by both sides of Taichi. Mitsuru Gunji, takes interest in Taichi and quickly chases after both alters. But what are his true motives? And can Taichi trust himself to someone who has more sides than he does? I liked the story very much. The author used D.I.D with a reasonable amount of respect without it being intrusive. We saw the terrible trauma that happened to the young Taichi that lead to the split, and the violent side retained aspects of a younger child while still always taking that protective role. I thought the dark Mitsuru was a good match for Taichi. All in all, very entertaining.
Hatsujou Relationship
So darn good! I adored these characters, especially the sexy Yankee, Tani Reiji. New sophomore student Hajime Nakamura, had a run in with a group of delinquents on his first day at his new school. When he is saved by the cool, strong and handsome Tani Reiji, Hajime falls head over heels into hero worship. This beautifully drawn story follows the puppy like Hajime as he becomes friends with his idol and then something more. I loved his devotion and determination to protect his senpai, as well as his occasional feisty temper.
I Seriously Can't Believe You...
I loved this pair so much. The ever so adorable Kon, with his snaggel tooth and sunny disposition, and the freshman heartthrob Iida, who is determined to go through high school life single. Their story started with a fake confession of love and was too darn cute for words. I loved the art, I loved the intensity of denied feelings, and I simply loved their dynamic. Just one question. How can a story with so much porn be this sweet?! A must read.
Fukigen na Kimi to Kimagure na Kiss
A perfect spin off from Asatte ni Kiss with Kunihiko and his kouhai Haru as MCs in college.
Blue! Blue! Blue!
A beautiful story that evokes feelings of hot summer days and falling in love. 20yo Takaya Kippei (earnest, hard working, forthright) and his boss, Honjou Masumi (well educated, graceful, mature) are the MCs of this prettily drawn manga. It’s pace is perfect, their interactions are moments of connection and it’s the kind of honest love that is irresistible to read.
Tasogare Outfocus
This is a gem! Artistically beautiful and two MCs who are good for each other, want the best for each other, and seriously adorable! Second years Tsuchiya Mao and Otomo Hisashi are sharing a dorm room again together this year. They have become friends who abide by 3 promises: I. Mao must never reveal Hisashi's secret that he is gay II. Hisashi won't look at Mao as a romantic interest III. Neither of them can get in the way of the other's "personal needs” time Things go well until Hisashi agrees to act in the BL movie being filmed by Mao’s film club. A movie with a kissing scene!
Fuyushirazu no Koi
A sultry summer setting for a taboo love. Cousins Chihiro and Shuto live next door to each other. For years now, Shuto has hidden that his love for Chihiro is deeper and more intense than acceptable. When his mother discovers his secret one summer night, Shuto is faced with traumatic feelings of shame and self loathing, especially as his mother cried. Yet even that isn’t enough to stem his love for Chihiro though he tries to become the son his mom could accept. The deep emotions and intensity of the changing relationship between MCs is lovely and the artwork is beautiful. I would have liked to see more resolution between mother and son, and a glimpse of the pairs future, but it was still a thoroughly enjoyable story.
