Kanchigai Tokidoki koi
1: This was nice, developed well, though tsundere ukes aren't exactly my jam. Again, the seme wasn't exactly up my street eitger, though he was certainly likable, but the plot was interesting, and the developments were well timed and interesting. 5 5: Horrible, just, horrible. The poor dude, to have to deal with this, at least he didn't rape him or touch him or anything. But the mental trauma and stress and the strain on his marriage :/ That had aboslutely no place in this manga. 2*
Red: My Superhero
I liked the first couple. Red was kinda likable, except for his tendency to bulldoze over what people are saying and go full speed ahead. Chitose was too tsundere for my taste. But. It was still good, and I didn't hate either one of the characters and the circumstances of their getting together is sk cute. 4.4 Tetta was my favourite, he's right up my street, his reactions were so real, he really didn't like the french guyx but then suddenly, he's into him, in literally, 2 panes?! I really hated the way they handled that story. It could have been better than the main one, but it wasn't. 3.5
Yoru ga Aketemo
I. Hmm. What to say about this one. I was crazy into it at the beginning. Chance encounters, old wounds and new loves. This is one of the rarer recipes in yaoi (though not all together uncommon), and rarer still, for it to have been executed so well in the beginning. However, the plot devolved midway and just, becomes fairly disappointing. Uichi seems to know next to nothing about Makoto and Mako keeps pushing Ui-chan away and blaming everything on Uichi. It could have been really good. Like, bruh. But instead, it's just okay. And kinda leaves a bitter after taste ? 4.2
Kuro X Koi
1: Ao the college student teaching kindergarteners and Kurose, a parent he has fallen for (who might be dating Ao's twin). It was okay? Story was simple and scenes were hot, but I couldn't really get into it? Maybe because Ao felt really ditzy and Kurose seems like the stereotypical rich seme who falls madly in love with you, but has a mean streak. I usually like that second trope, but maybe because this is so short? Maybe that lends to it feeling shallow. 4.4 3: Story about Shirase, who's been divorced 3 times and Midori, who always gets dumped. They finally meet the person who would put up with the depth of their feelings and in Shirase's case, his crazy stamina. Again, way too short. The story couldn't be properly hashed out. This would have been a 5* story with enough space. 4.2 5: Story about Aki, Shirase's kid and his childhood friend Akane, whom he turned down in kindergarten. Akane continues to harbour his first love well into high school. This would be so, so good if the had even just 5 chapters. It's such a shame, seriously. I enjoyed the plot. I liked how Aki snapped him up, asserting his feelings forcefully and I loved Akane's innocent reluctance. 4.6 Overall: 4.4
Omowaseburi na Kimi no Tonari
I found Nishino to be all over the place with his feelings. Maki's feelings too seemed to pop up out of nowhere in the first chapter, because of how much was skipped. The angst and nosy exes and misunderstandings, they really milked that angle for all it's worth- and then some. I didn't hate it, of course. But it wasn't the best, either. Also, give Nishino some wiggle room, ffs! This is kind of a lot to be dumped on him all at once! 4.2
Hate Mate
I only read the last 12 chalters or so, but it felt bitter and ugly and unstable. And cold, cold longing ribboned the epilogue. I would go far as to say I hated it. Reminds me of that one open ended Spirk fic where Spock has amnesia and leaves Jim and the Enterprise and they see each otheragain many years later. Hated that too. 3.5
Yajima-kun no sezonku friend
Kaoru's feelings kinda confused me? He seemed nuts about senpai and determined to cling to him despite the cheating, but changed his mind and broke up in half a day. Like, wtf? Then, he developed feelings for Yajima and senpai said something like 'isn't he your unrequited love?'. I'm so confused. Also, Yajima is kinda pushy, but overall, it was still an okay read. 4.1
Tada Omoukoto wa
Hmm. A typical unrequited but actually requited story about friends in high school, who's love comes to fruition as adults. Didn't really carry the angst and melancholy attached to the stories that use this plot, that I love reading so much. The characters were all right, I wasn't crazy about any of them, though. The story was okay, a little boring? 4.3
Hana ni Omoeba
Ariska is a 30 year old (bi? pan?) dude who owns a flower shop and hasn't been on a date in years. He falls for the dillugent boyfriend who always comes in to buy flowers for his lover. Nice. Wouldn't really reread, kinda forgettable. 4.4
