I Don't Need A Dad

Complete | Cold | 2022 released

I think the base story is good but the execution is just really lacking, it feels too random. Maybe with giving it some more chapters and emotional detail it could have worked. Or maybe by making it more comedy-focused. That could have also shifted the story for the better. This just felt too random as it is now. Do like the base idea tho. I think showing an orphan turned criminal and someone who's concerned about them and tries to chase them down to give them a normal life again is a really neat concept. There's plenty of potential with that sorta setup.

Secret Take

Ongoing | Budan | 2022 released

Lost me within 1 chapter. These kinda comics become the norm lately, that's sad. The setup could have been really interesting but going for the good old fashioned and lazy route of: - creep approaches - creep molests MC - MC says it's disgusting but he randomly gets a hard on like a hentai bitch - they probably proceed to fuck because of the blackmail You lost me with that shitty plot route. This has been done a hundred or a thousand times. Predictable, not likable and for anyone not reading to fap to it, just not interesting. I know I shouldn't expect anything anymore from smut stories, but authors could at least pretend to be better than amateur porn plot writers. Just pretend. A tiny bit. :')

A Pushover's Romance

Complete | Moscareto,모스카레토, Hyun Lee | 2000 released

The writing of this feels really off. I could forgive the very obnoxious back and forth from past to present and rinse and repeat, over and over and OVER (without getting to the point in a good manner), but even that becomes unforgivable since it drags on for so long. What bothers me most is the absolute misuse of that AND the miscommunication trope tho. As well as the character behavior: Both of them come across like acting to create a specific moment rather than a moment happening due to them behaving as the person they are. If that makes sense? It feels forced, shoe-horned and random at times even. As if the script didn't think through how to get to the next happening, but we had to get there, so we'll just force it within moments. Both the MC and the ML have personalities that seem bland, again, as if their behavior is rooted in creating the next happening rather than a flowing and cohesive personality. It's just strange. Tho the back and forth without getting anywhere and the annoying misunderstandings really does not help get a real feel for their actual perosnality. It's an interesting story at the core, but the execution is anything but good. And I am certainly not a fan of the main plot basically being miscommunication/misunderstandings galore in and of itself, everything around is basically just a garnish. Not really my thing due to these issues just overstaying their welcome WAY too much. But maybe you can enjoy it. The art is decent, tho I noticed the artist has an issue with not being able to portray some expressions. But i know people can forgive that easily. Check it out, give it a try. It's too annoying for my taste, but maybe you won't mind.

My Sadistic Master

Ongoing | Seobyeol,Haseo | 2024 released

I was really hyped to not only see a bearded ML but also one that wasn't a jackass or had rape-y tendecies. Then chapter 7 rolled in and that went out the window. Felt honestly like someone entirely different wrote that chapter, since it didn't align with his precious behavior at all. Not my thing, lost all interest honestly. But maybe someone else can have a blast with it. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

4 Week Lovers

Complete | Maroron | 2019 released

Even the official translation is lackluster in terms of grammar and feels off. The ML is either mental or just weirdly written; his reason for falling in love was literally him realizing the MC is a mega-idiot/ultra-doormat and then he just kissed him and apparently borderline stalked him. The MC is not a character, he's a parody-type tool at best; written in a way that furthers the story rather than behaving like a person with a set personality. The ML's weird, almost creepy obsessive and nonchalant behavior gives major sociopath vibes. Which also goes well with his weird reason for falling in love/immediately kissing the MC out of nowhere. The overall comic cuts out WAY too much, not as annoyingly badly as most webtoons, but it still makes the characters feel shallow, lacking detail and it takes away from the immersion. It's all in all very lacklusterly and shittily done. Not sure why people hype this, but it's not well done. Maybe the novel (if there is one) is better, but even then the ML might feel like a sociopathic freak. Not appealing. Not recommended. Unless you have mid to low writing standards I guess.

Rather Than The Son, I’ll Take The Father

Ongoing | | 2022 released

First of all, the story is VERY interesting and for a change this female lead seems likable and not the typical weird mess we see so often in these stories. XD The art is decent too, but there are some issues that bother me: There are too many random moments (why tf did ML suddenly go to the cafe bar and make a drink for her?? That was WAY out of character) and jump cuts/missed info. Or just things that are full on ignored (like the parents not wanting her to marry an old dude, wanting to check up who he is, but that never happened, they weren't even at the ball). The male lead is a breath of fresh air in terms of design (he made me notice literal all MLs have the same eye type, wtf) and personality, but he still feels a bit shallow. Not as shallow as the villain adoptive son tho. That character feels entirely like he just exists to be the bad guy and his behavior is based on acting to create a moment, not acting as he as a character would and then a moment happening. He's just NOT well written at all and the story makes it clear it doesn't care, he just exists to be hated. And that's not writing I'm fond of. Alongside with the plot-tool type behavior of course. The overarching story is super interesting, but I really hope these flaws don't keep happeneing so much. It throws you off rhythm easily and some stuff is honestly annoying (time skipping after somewhat important moments especially).

Suezen Kurau wa Otoko no Tachi

Ongoing | Tobi washio | 2022 released

Somehow the story feels unfinished to me. The plot was going well but the conclusion just happened somehow too swiftly, then it was just happy ending, here's the credits. This would have benefitted more from the MC actually going through a smal arc of realizing his feelings more and them having a conversation before bonking and the credits rolling in. The base story is nice, something new tbh. We rarely get to see an office worker top being a total slut and just being SO casual about it, like some men simply are irl. He feels realistic in that sense. His persistence is bordering between stalker and eccentric(?) and that makes him quite unique. XD I love the love interest but I wish we could have seen him more vulnerable and opening up, maybe actually crying and telling his story before the credits roll. That would have been perfect for the small, heavy feeling moments that we got with him. It's flawed for sure, but I think it could have been great with a bit of adjustments. Definitely like it tho, despite it being smut heavy. Tho it IS well balanced between smut and actual story. That is a big plus, want more of this in comics tbh. Recommended for a casual read with lots of smut in it but also some story, but don't try to look for anything deep and detailed.

My Little Inferno

Complete | ASADA Nemui | 2019 released

Not gonna read further than the MC pissing himself, the ML raping him and then making fun of him when he pukes. Besides threatening him and all that. Sorry, I have standards for at least something pleasant in the beginning. This ain't it.

Koimonogatari

There's just no feeling of interest during reading and the sudden love confession was weird, so I'mma bail.
