Here U Are

Complete | DJun | 2000 released

Very lovely so far, and even the misunderstandings, which I freaking hate as a trope, are at least sorted out fairly quickly. I love that this story has so much to do with being out and living life in a world filled with uncertainty and homophobia. So much fear and heartbreak, it makes me cry. But there's hope, and I really appreciate the flashes of them together in the future. It hurts right now, but we know that in the end, they're happy. And LiHuan really is perfect for YuYang. He's patient and kind and understanding, and he's willing to deal with Yang's messy baggage without being pushy or frustrated. He's perceptive, and he isn't just forcing himself on Yang. You can tell that they'll have a healthy relationship, because LiHuan really listens and pays attention, and YuYang, once he gets past all of his fear and his walls of protection, loves with all his heart. I get why people are annoyed with the random couple introduced. Why did she shove another straight guy/gay guy relationship in here, especially one that has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the story. I mean, I know that several of them are friends with Pan, but why is the uke just some weird, random straight guy with an annoying personality? At any rate, I like the story enough to tolerate it, but it would be nice to focus more on the careful, complex process of teaching YuYang to trust, and to undo all of those years of hurt.

Bokurani Matsuwaru Etc

Complete | kyuugou | 2008 released

A little rushed at times, but ultimately sweet. I feel like the second story would have benefited by being a full novel, where the friendship is explored and deepened. As is, it's like a snapshot of something he saw happen, the end. He hints at wanting change, but nothing changes. At any rate, not a bad read. I feel like I've read it before, but it must have been a while ago, since it was just vague recollections.

Happy Birthday

Complete | Ymz | 2000 released

I need to read this again carefully from the beginning, but either way, it was a pleasant read. I may have skimmed a bit near the beginning, mostly due to anxiety, but I really liked this story of friendship! You just don't get to see that as much. However, a lot of good stuff was too brief or glossed over. I wish it had better-explored those themes. Oh well, still liked it.

Oyasuminasai No Ato Wa

Complete | kabano sakadachi | 2015 released

Hm. I liked it in ways, but I feel like it had a lot of potential to be better. There were also some frustrating, rushed elements, and I felt like things were resolved way too easily. It was very sad when that teacher got fired because of a misunderstanding, though. And the way that the uke was treated didn't seem to be as much of a focus later. I would have liked to have seen more of that. Anyway, it was sweet, and it had a happy ending, so hey. Plus it's rare to see an omegaverse that actually focuses on the kids or pregnancy, so that was interesting.

Mousou Roller Coaster

Ongoing | OOTSUKI Kurumi | 2018 released

Aw, very cute. They obviously really care about each other. <3 I like established couples, too. I hope the rest of the manga is just about them, being together and happy.

Sayonara Focus

Ongoing | Haruta | 2014 released

The first story was really sweet (love the supportive friend!) but it felt very unfinished. There were hints of things that never came up. Like I thought he'd find the photo he took of him sleeping and realize he'd been pining from the start. I also thought something was up with the guy he was assisting, but that went nowhere and was never mentioned again. Regardless, it was a sweet little one shot, so hey. The second story was sad but interesting. I liked the open ending, because I think on the one hand he's taking control and freeing himself, but on the other hand, he's letting go of more than just the bad. Anyway, only two stories here so far, but they were good. ^^

Family Vacation

Complete | kharisma jati | 2000 released

Honestly, I'm surprised this one is on here, though I suppose with that whole Godless Chamber thing, it isn't too shocking. That it's here, I mean. It's definitely a fucked up story. All of his work is like that, and I'm really fascinated by it for some reason. I'm not usually into guro or these themes, but... eh.

Aoi haru,akaiito

Complete | Kisayuki | 2000 released

Aww, such a sweet story! I'm bummed about a few things, and there's some stuff that was really glossed over, but ultimately it was such a happy, loving story despite how both of them felt trapped. They even avoided the "misunderstanding for the next 100 pages" bullshit that so many of these stories turn to. Plus, pretty! I wanted him to have a friend, though. Hate that it had to be an either/or situation, when his friend wasn't even part of his father's perfect plan. I wanted to see him feel free to hang out with who he wanted, including his childhood friend. Meh. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I wish there were more. Also, wtf, why are "twisted" and "dark" popular tags for this manga?

Warau Oni ni wa Fuku Kitaru

Complete | Yamamoto Kotetsuko | 2000 released

Noooo! Why are there only four chapters? D: Can't wait for the next update. This is a very cute, sweet story between two people who like each other, one of which can't bring himself to say it. There are elements that are a little rushed, but the sweetness between the main pair is so nice and refreshing. I love this seme. Both the seme and uke are cute, and I like seeing the evolution of what the uke went through. I wish we could get more flashbacks of their childhood.

Natsu no Kizu

Complete | avogado6 | 2019 released

Is this part of a series? As a stand alone, it's just a random snapshot. More of a caricature of a bad father and sad little boy than anything else. But hey, if people got something out of it, that's all that matters.
