It can cause issues if the space is overly pack by more teeth, and for a lot of people they aren't position in way that they can come out properly so its safer to remove them.
I got some molars taken out (last choice after experiencing medical neglect twice) and was able to let my wisdom teeth come out naturally since I now had room, it takes a rll......
