onions. i can appreciate the flavor they add to the food but the actual act of chewing and swallowing an onion triggers my gag reflex like nothing else. just hate the crunch texture when i bite and will always pick them out of the food, no matter how small the pieces are cut down to.

recently finished mysterious skin and i think it was really good, fair warning though there are a LOT of trigger warnings to keep in mind and it isn’t a happy story at all.
also, someone linked it above but you can find practically any book on zlibrary, highly recommend.

i have a few:
became one of my favorite shows of all time, the budget, directing and acting were all on point
genuinely terrified me, its more of a subtle psychological horror
was an interesting concept with great acting, ending was a total wtf moment
one of my first tastes of horror and caused nightmares for days
not what i was expecting......

leaving the door open a tiny crack when a person leaves instead of fully closing it.
not washing one’s own dishes immediately after using it.
touching all of the food before choosing one to eat.
not closing the toilet lid after usage.
leaving random things in the other siblings room so that they have to clean it themself.

if thinking fantastically, probably. if thinking literally in terms of real science, probably not as meiosis requires two different parents and im not sure cell replication could work if its just 2 sets of the same genes. if it somehow did, the egg would likely not be viable anyway.

novel-wise, probably native son and mysterious skin. native son was a great book but has some pretty dark themes to it, and mysterious skin was deeply upsetting as i went into it blind and it discussed a topic i am very sensitive to (csa).
manga-wise, probably feeding lamb by nishin masumi or metamorphosis, for obvious reasons.
