something that pisses me off about america is that so many immigrants who have degrees and are professionals arent able to pursue their careers because the degree they earned is deemed useless here. like, cant they take some sort of entrance exam instead of fuckin them over?? my mom's friend used to have such a successful career back at his home country but when he came to america he has to work as an uber because his degree is considered "invalid." i'm in no way trashing people who work as taxi/uber drivers but its just disappointing to hear that so many smart people are being treated like this
