Hi guys, not to get political but I kinda wanted to do this to know more about other people’s opinions though this is the last place to ask this. I study politics in the UK for my A-levels (kinda like college but we have two year, Year 12 and Year 13) and we study about two countries, Uk in Year 12 and the US in Year 13 which is what I’m doing right now. So a month ago friend A was roasting me and he joked about how I dressed “like a straight girl” and for some reason that really bothered me. I know he wasn’t trying to make me feel bad but something about that made feel weird. So I was ranting to friend B about it and she said “I feel like you dress more like a white girl if anything” so I asked her if that was a bad thing and she said “I’m not saying it’s a bad thing I’m just saying that you do”. And I just- what? What is that supposed to mean? I’m not trying to say it’s bad to be straight or that it’s bad to be white but how am I supposed to take that? The whole thing made me feel really bad about myself so I decided to buy some clothes that seemed more “gay” which mainly consisted of flannel shirts and jeans. I got a compliment from friend A saying that I didn’t dress like a straight girl anymore and I was expecting to feel bit better about the whole situation but I honestly didn’t. It just made me feel worse about myself. Plus I may dress like “a bi girl” now but does that mean I look more like “a white girl” and if I choose to dress more like “a black girl” will I stop looking like “a bi girl”. Is there an in between? What if I don’t like how the clothes in the in between look? Now I’m really insecure about how I’m dressing. Idk dude. Any advice on what to do?
