Hey guys!! I just wanted to start a thread, and conversation about how we support authors as a community, how we do it individually, monetarily, and how those methods affect and shape our community! Please reply and comment your ideas <3 Thanks for stopping by!

So, I wanted to spark a conversation about this (Not a debate, please guys. Civility) because some of my favorite series have been dropped and picked up, been debated on, shared and privated, etc! This is not to call any certain ones out, of course not! I do want to share, however, how and why I wanted to start this conversation :)

Hidoku Shinaide was dropped by nnnscans very recently. It broke my heart, TREMENDOUSLY, and I was very conflicted over their reasoning. They wanted to support sensei in their work and to stop producing sensei's work for free, when it is a licensed product. Meaning, they are steering away and using sensei's content in ways that diminish the support sensei could be getting.

I was very conflicted because I knew the rationality of it, I supported it! But ultimately, I realized I was really bummed because it was no longer free and at the tip of my fingertips. (Not sure if this is similar to you guys' and your favorites, but if so please share). And realizing this, it got me thinking about how I treated creators, their works, falling into consumerism, and all the stolen content we're consuming. It made me want to start holding myself accountable, start a conversation about how we can better support our creators and at the same time still consume these beautiful content! <3

I definitely will never be able to afford the MASSES I've already read. And I am sorry I could never give the creators the support they would have gained from this. However, I TRULY want to start holding myself accountable for undermining their hard work. And maybe if enough of us begin to hold ourselves accountable, we can better support our creators AND boost our community in ways we've never realized we needed!

Can we find ways to support them in even little amounts? Can we find ways to guide traction back to them? Can we engage in conversations of holding ourselves and each other accountable for how we are affecting this community? I honestly hope we can, and maybe our actions can change our community positively step by step <3

I can't wait to hear from you guys. Thank you to anyone who read this far <3 I've just become so disheartened and quite 'alone' in what seems to be a long uphill path.

tldr: My favorite series was dropped and I realized I was mainly upset over the idea of no longer getting it for free. It disheartened me to realize how easily I fell into the normalization of free content. And now, I really want to start holding myself accountable. So, I have this GC I created bc I wanted to be surrounded by a group of people who enjoyed talking to people online as much as I do and enjoy talking about their love life. Because I have. It was funny at first, and then a bit panicky, and then I just accepted I was going to die alone on my balcony because I didn't unlock the secondary lock on the door. So stupid, sigh.

A guy in my class told me that he liked me and i knew about it for awhile now. The thing is I'm not sure if i like him too. Most of the time, i wait for him to message me. So I have a bit of a problem.
I very much want to have friends to chat with. But I will go from talking for hours and hours for weeks on end, then suddenly hit a deep depression and disappear for possibly months, but then come back as if nothing ever happened, and repeat. Most people can't really keep up with that, which is understandable; I mean I hate it also and makes me embarrassed which sometimes starts the depression, but that's beside the point. But because of that I have no "friends" to come back to when I pull myself out of my depression episode. I literally have one person I talk to, and that's because I live with them, hah. Anyway: Please be my friend, and I'm sorry if I don't seem like I want you as a friend. I really do, I just need to pull myself together a lot, hah. Long time ago, I read a manga/manhwa (can't clearly remember) about a artist (maybe mangaka, but surely he draws sth) who cheated by his girlfriend. And his girlfriend is cheathing him with his best friend. Then he gets drunk and accidentally kills his friend (If I am not wrong, his best friend dies because of his pens) and try to hide to body by burning it. I can't remember the rest but I remember he goes convenince store with disguising himself and scared of the police man while going there. It was'nt something romantic or

I was reading 19 Days. I've been following the manga since it came out and I thought 'I'd actually like to send money the mangaka's way, this is a great manga'.

Usually I'd just buy the manga, but I'm having trouble finding a way to actually do this (if anyone knows can you let me know?). It got me thinking it would be nice if there was a button on the site you could click that led you to donate (preferably anonymously) to a mangaka when they have the option available (like a patreon or something).

What do you guys think?

OK. Few days ago I remembered some manga that I read long time ago but because I don't remember title, author or if it was full manga or just one shot I have a problem with finding it. I have whole situation from manga in my head and its driving me crazy!
It starts with a boy entering a new school and he is looking for a roommate, since in that school everyone has to be matched to a roommate who will be his partner in everything, the grades are even combined.
The boy after discovering this rule went around the school campus looking for a partner and ends up bumping into someone who does not know and falls to the ground. This guy helps him up and asks if he gets hurt, he falls in love and asks if the guy wants to share a room with him and be his partner. But what he doesn't know is that this guy is actually the super popular school board president and already has a roommate who is the school board vice president. He didn't know why he was young and why everyone who already has a partner wears a brooch with his partner's initials, but this guy had no brooch with him.
The fact that they have partners indicates that they should do everything together and, as I said before, also share the test scores and the various extra-curricular activities they are required to participate in. In the early days, the president, who was full of bad intentions with the newbie, takes him to live with him in his super chic room because he is part of the highest level of division that is A and lives in super chic rooms. But the freshman is not used to the extra activities and rigid system of the college and makes the president fall into group F where they must live in a crumbling house as far away as possible from the campus where classes take place. They move there since they are obliged, but the president, accustomed to the good lifestyle, overhauls the old house and makes it very new and tidy. And the vice president who already had a history with the president and is jealous of the freshman decides that everyone on the class council will live there too.

Manga is starting that some salesman is getting out of the train on his way back from work and when some guy is catching his hand saying someone else name. After that guy is getting sick because he is drunk, so salesman have to take care of him. After that he's finding out that he looks like this drunk guy's ex-lover. He says that he is OK with sleeping with him while pretending to be this lover because he understands that feeling because he has been dumped as well. After some time in café salesman can hear guy talking with his girlfriend about some gay-man who was his sugar daddy. Because he's talking about our drunk guy, salesman hits him. Of course at the end salesman and drunk guy live happily ever after.
If someone have idea what manga I'm talking about, please let me know.
