ooo i had the problem of my parents peeking into my room through the door gap or keyhole! my dad even broke my door so i couldn't lock it anymore. i had to resort to slipping a blanket in the door gap so they can't peek. after we moved out to a new home they can't peek on me anymore but they still seized my bedroom key(￣∇￣") 1 reply
My mom randomly comes into my room just to see what I am doing. This is totally an asian mom thing lol If I have to do something private, I will just lock my room for the time being.

Is it normal? No. Is it common? Yes! Especially if you’re Asian. Most Asian moms are like that, they don’t really understand what personal space is. Try telling her that you feel uncomfortable, and if she still doesn’t listen, lash out or something so she realizes how you actually feel about it. 2 reply

I’ve seen a lot of comments here mentioning Asian culture and as someone who’s lived in Asia, is asian, yes being close to a family member is normal. We really don’t care whether we see you showering or butt ass naked cause as long as you’re family and you’re the same gender as us, were kind of used to it. Normal, no, but not uncommon. I think most Asian cultures are like that, but I can’t speak for everyone else. My Korean aunt is the same way as your mom, and it drives me crazy when I stay at her house She walks into the room when I’m showering and changing, comes in my room almost every hour and even when I’m sleeping, and sending pictures ...... 1 reply
What is your cultural background? I find Asian moms (especially Filipinos) tend to be really clingy, but I don't tend to see it with American moms. My mom (American) was rather detached but I think that was because she was dealing with physical and mental health problems.
