Karhan is such an absolute sweetheart, honestly appearance wise he isn't my type (MC's bro is more my type especially the glasses) but his personality is just so sweet that you can't help but adore him.
Also Illyia please accept my application for the sister in law position, I guarantee to take good care of your brother.
If you think about it Lawrence really fits the bill for your usual toxic otome isekai male leads (handsome, complicated background, rich, toxic personality) with Lysia as the female lead / main character, where the male lead would be responsible for a shit ton of horrible things that happen to the main character and her country and even her death but still somehow feel entitled to her simply because the female lead liked him once. In any other story he would get what he wants in the end but here he will meet his doom because he underestimates Lysia and the others.
I don't know why these straight smut main male characters that target male audience always look like scumbags, like even when the character is supposedly a decent guy he will still look like a piece of shit or have a slimy aura for some reason. It's very difficult to find a story like this where the main character doesn't look or feel slimy.
You could replace the ml with a handsome and rich cardboard and the story would still remain the same. He barely causes anything in the plot through his own actions, its all about who he is rather than what he does and honestly I usually don't mind ML being in the sidelines while MC does everything but it just doesn't make sense in this case because it's ML and his nephew that's at the centre and the trigger of the plot.
I like how the writer at least showed that MC is neurodivergent through MC's father and sister and his reaction to their actions, dude interprets relations and emotions in a completely different way so I guess it makes sense that he himself doesn't even realise how deep he has fallen for the ML because its a completely new feeling for a person who already interprets feeling very differently.
I still hope to god MC realises his feelings before breaking ML's heart, they have such a great dynamics going on and I don't want that messed with.

It's sad how even her closest comrades and Khalid fail to see her as a person, to them she has always been this ray of hope and comfort, a guiding light of sorts, an entity rather than a human being capable of change. They don't acknowledge her actual thoughts and feelings, do their best to keep her ignorant of the world and rather use her to project their own views. It was never about what Estelle actually sees and thinks but rather what she can think and see for them.
I agree 100%, and personally I think that even though it sucks for her to find all that out, it is such a good depiction by the author. The whole process of her unlearning all the biased perspectives she was taught has been good, imo.
I’m giving your response a “like”, lol. Well said and good point.
