Homesis MC is what? At least in her 20s or 30s in terms of mental age right? She's had multiple lives before this one as well. Even in this current incarnation, I thought she was around 10 years old. Why is she so... helpless? The average preteen isn't so gullible and frail. Makes the MC's personality totally unrealistic and unlikable. Hope to see some character development from her soon; she definitely needs it, especially in the middle of a major war. Yikes.

Uke-kun seems like a masochist to me. He disobeyed his master’s order to not get hurt because he was anticipating his punishment. I, too, cry in sexual situations if I’m in that kind state -typically during kinky play. Not because I’m not enjoying it, but rather, the situation is intensely overwhelming. Maybe that’s why I don’t see the uke as a victim.

I agree. I wanted to be in his position the entire time so maybe my opinion shouldn’t be trusted. However, I feel like a lot of the people that are calling it rape would be surprised at how many people are actually into sex like this. I have a feeling most of these comments are from minors or from really naive people who don’t know that masochists can get like this

The significance of Ganta’s name was mentioned in the manga, but the nuance is lost for those who don’t know Japanese and/or for those who aren’t familiar with WWII history. The characters used for Ganta’s name (丸太) can either be read as “ganta” or “maruta.” During WWII, the code name for test subjects used in inhumane biowarfare experiments were called “maruta,” which literally means “log.” To hide evidence of human experimentation, the imperial Japanese army referred to the prisoners as “logs,” which I believe is the parallel to the experimentation done to Shiro/Ganta. See “Unit 731” for more details if you’re interested, but I implore you to proceed with caution. Very cruel and gruesome details.

As of now, the crew is at a solid ten members. Each one has an ambition and title: greatest swordsman, greatest navigator, greatest sniper, greatest cook, greatest doctor, greatest archaeologist, greatest shipwright, greatest musician, greatest helmsman, and of course, the Pirate King. What would Carrot and Yamato be? There really aren't any more core roles to be filled. I suppose they could be part of the fighting team, but not sure if their aspirations match those of the PK's crew.

But in the beginning of the story, Luffy said he wanted 10 crewmates to join him. There's forums online discussing what position the new person would have. They currently have a captain, first mate, navigator, cook, doctor, gunner, shipwright, scholar/historian, musician and helmsman. They don't have a lookout or a quartermaster. A lookout makes more sense for the 10th crewmate since the quartermaster is just an extra. I think they should get someone that can fly since they currently dont have good air support.
Do I think Yamato or Carrot will join the crew? No. They've travelled with several people for long periods of time and then not included them in the crew (like Vivi). There's been no hints that Luffy wants to invite either of them.

I get you. I honestly feel the same way. There's supposed to be like 4-5 more years left (so 200-300 more chapters). Hopefully Jinbe and whoever joins next (if Oda doesnt change his mind about adding one more person) assimilates into the group before the end. Also, lately the crew is all split apart. There hasn't been many crew bonding chapters since Jinbe joined. It was more like going straight to war. He hasn't really been given a chance to truly become part of the group. He barely even appears.
In the first volume, the only reason that Kuroi rejected Touma's persistent advances was because he didn't want the person he loved to get involved in dangerous affairs. They've had physical relations for a long time too, despite their occupational differences. Still, I'm hesitant to say Kuroi loves Touma the way Touma loves him -I feel more of a familial love than a passionate one, if anything. Not that subdued love is any more or less than an explicit one, but I do understand Touma's concerns.
Edit: SIKE bitch! He DOES love Touma the same way. So happy I was wrong (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
