kinda weird how others bypass rape and toxicity as whatever when an ml (general bl yaoi manhwas) starts falling for the mc then when it comes to this manhwa, everyone’s just pure hating… deffo not a fan of rape or anything alike and don’t support the rape on jk’s part but lbsr mc got involved on his own accord and suffered the consequences (please don’t bring up manipulation of the situation due to the fact that he needed money or whatever cause PLEASE) so idk what the strong hate is for, especially saying that it’d be fine for ml to have gotten raped/touched when he was younger… double standards/hypocritical no?
Hoping to see progression in their story though and see them (perhaps?) sort their feelings out, but with how this has been dragged out so far I’m guessing there’s still a lot more to come and more chapters to wait upon…

me personally, no, i never bypass it. if a ml ever rapes or beats the mc, i will drop it. and if i dont drop it, i will read it begrudgingly and at no point will i root for their relationship no matter how much they turn around. at that point, im really reading it just to know the ending.

i also believe the strong hate jk receives is bc atp none of the readers expect jk to have an impressive character arc. either hes given a tragic backstory, his personality just makes a 180 with no development whatsoever, or he remains the EXACT same, just confesses to doc dan and somehow doc is the one whos sorry and apologising at the end. none of these situations are satisfying - and every time it seems like he MIGHT show some development, he just regresses back to the utter pos he is.

honestly wondering, why dont you want manipulation/coercion being brought up? jk very CLEARLY did, honestly weird that youd say that. and, okay, lets say that doc dan entirely "got involved on his own accord" and TOTALLYYYY wasnt coerced. later, he changed his mind and said he doesnt want to. consent can be taken away at any point, and jk refused to accept that and threatened him instead. from the very beginning, it was rape.

also, im not saying that i want jk to have been molested/sa'd when he was a kid. im saying that no matter how tragic of a backstory he has, even if he WAS touched, it will feel like a cop-out regardless of how it is executed. him being a victim does not justify him now being an abuser and rapist. imo, all of the hate directed towards this mf is completely justified, i wish him nothing but the worst

fair points tbh and I 100% get where you’re coming from I was more so speaking about it generally, where people have double standards in situations as this. And also get the “only reading cause you wanna know how it ends” cause that’s me too towards some shit ass, toxic manhwas.

About the whole “not bringing up the manipulation” stuff, it wasn’t that I didn’t think it played a big factor because it obviously did, I just wasn’t understanding why most people were hating on the manhwa for such reasons and saying that jk was completely wrong on that part.
Yes there was emotional manipulation, where he used kd’s situation to his advantage, but at the end of the day, kd could’ve left (like he did later on) AT ANY POINT, but didn’t…
A) because he needed the money that was a part of the TRANSACTION between jk and kd.
B) he started to develop feelings for jk.
kd LEFT on HIS OWN accord later on, but if we’re being honest, he perhaps could’ve left sooner if he wanted…..
NO I don’t condone nor am supporting or liking JK’s actions but PLEASE understand that KD is a fully grown ass man that CHOSE to enter into the job/contract of meeting JK’s desires… he KNEW that jk was aggressive from the beginning (he’s literally a boxer who fights for a living…..)
-Moreover, I am indeed waiting for JK’s backstory and redemption arc because that may be what saves the manhwa…or not…..

Also, whether unrelated or related, another point I was trying to make was that I don’t understand why people were hating on ‘Jinx’ while liking other manhwas of the same categories or at least with the same storylines… it just didn’t make sense to me because it was very much double standard.

Pls read jinx before say something like that ....

no what I meant was that jk took the fact that Dan needed money to his advantage and used that as a reason into manipulating Dan into staying with him (so he keeps getting paid), then later on uses his debt as a reason as well. I wasn’t referring to his grandma or anything else.
