Okay so, according to spoilers/discussions i've read on this site on this comment section - yes, Hyun Yi (lady trapped in the ice) is "the female lead" or at the very least the closest we'll get to one in this story. I've been waiting for her for a while, and ended up letting chapters build up from 104 to 120 so I could binge all of it in one go, knowing she would finally make her appearance (which I did just now, and I have no regrets).
So, to be clear, I myself haven't confirmed any of this, all I know comes from past comments on this site. We'll see her again at some point, and if i remember right, the two will be lovely and chill with each other. I vaguely remember commenting something about "can't wait to see them be old people together" in the past on one of these discussion threads, haha. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I honestly can't wait to see more of her actual personality. I loved the part where she "mistook" his intentions to bring her to his room, he replied with "don't worry, I'm not going to eat you" and she replied with "how disappointing". I want to see more of that!! And I desperately want to see our MC also present more signs of interest towards her, since right now, we haven't seen him treat her more differently from how he treats others (=sees them as kids most of the time). I also like the consistent emphasis that he and Jaegal (? Hu Gong's "niece") do not have anything romantic going on, only familial. (I mention this in this context bc i think it adds to the fact that MC's relationship with ice lady is different as well).
The way Mc says goodbye to her is definitly different, compared how he usually speaks to others ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
