I really wonder what the author is thinking while writing this. Choa and Mujin keep saying sappy romance lines like "he's my light" and "I can do anything for him" and I get the feeling that maybe I'm supposed to be impressed and admire their love, but instead I just feel like rolling my eyes since Choa doesn't actually feel that way (because he lost his memories) and Mujin seems to have no problems letting Choa get raped a bunch, which just invalidates all the cutesy sparkly stuff they think about each other for me. On the other hand, this has a horror tag and a psychological tag, so maybe it's supposed to be darkly ironic, but if that's the case, the author really needs to work on the tone of the story when those lines crop up, because they always feel entirely sincere.

I totally see what you mean, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be romantic. I feel like it’s just a highlight of the semes obsession. To him the uke is his literal light in the darkness. All he sees is him, and when he’s not there, he’s left in the dark. You don’t love the light, you covet it. That’s what I am assuming anyway, I could be wrong.

Any time I read something like this, I'm always struck by how badly Japan needs to address mental health issues more often. Like, even though Michiru didn't say anything about what happened at the time, she clearly experienced something traumatic enough that it caused a dramatic shift in her personality, and the way the people in her life reacted was to just... not say anything about it? And they even thought maybe it was just a cold? Michiru should have been placed in therapy immediately after the incident. Feelings of shame and low self-worth? Therapy. Repressed traumatic memories? Therapy. Childhood sexual abuse? Therapy. And yeah, I know this is just a fictional story, but fiction can say a lot about the real values a culture holds and Japan absolutely gives zero fucks about the mental health of its citizens, which is such an unfortunate thing for everyone involved.

Reading spoilers about what Hideyoshi does in future chapters and I gotta say....... it's been over a decade since I first got in to reading manga and I'm pretty genuinely frustrated that we still can't seem to move past this trope. Just, please, stop making your ML a piece of shit and then presenting us with much better options in our 2nd and/or 3rd MLs, only to remember that your 1st ML is endgame so you have to go ruin your other characters to make him seem good by comparison. I mean, all of the character build-up for Hideyoshi so far has been about how much he values self-control and helping Omegas, and you're telling me HE'S the one who marks Noeru without her consent? Not sus as hell, already abused his mouth powers, Yukimura? Sounds to me more like the author and/or editor read too many comments from readers about how much better Hideyoshi seemed compared to Nobunaga and decided to pull a 180 with his character to get the ML and FL's relationship back on track. How about just don't make Nobunaga such a crappy person in the first place? Problem solved.

Hot damn, I completely forgot what a punch in the gut this webtoon is. Poor Min Gyeom and his many many years of emotional abuse. It was so frustrating to see him constantly shoot himself in the foot because of his shitty mental health. Personally, I don't blame him at all for getting together with the second "love interest" initially (whose name I can't be bothered to remember because he is a literal piece of shit). Like, he messed up, but he tried to be responsible about it. He didn't feel like it was right to be with Chunsam after sleeping with someone else and agreeing (or so he thought) to be in a relationship with them instead. If anything, it was completely trash bag with a ponytail's fault for taking advantage of a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT (who was also DRUNK). A non-trash bag adult human being would have either a)not had sex with a teenager in the first place or b)immediately cleared the situation up and told the teenager their night together was a one-time thing and they should go be with the person they truly like. I mean, really, I find it quite ironic that a webtoon with so many wholesome characters (the parents, the sister and her boyfriend) would also have one of the worst scumbags I have ever had the displeasure of reading about. It will frustrate the hell out of me forever and ever that his girlfriend was willing to take him back. That disgusting asshole deserves to suffer and be alone for the rest of his miserable asshole life. Ahem. Anyway, while it did seem like maybe Mingyeom and Chunsam weren't too good for each other for a while there, I really do think they worked out their issues enough by the end that I feel confident they'll be able to continue to live together happily, and that's good enough for me.

So I guess I'm just confused because I've read spoilers that the doctor tricks Pauliana and steals all her money but... is it really possible for him to trick her if she knows he's just after her money? Does her opinion of him change enough that she starts to think he actually likes her too, or something?

Warning of spoilers to those who don't want them stop here

Po's money wasn't taken by soft chicks (the doctor, I forgot his name). So she did start to like him a lot to the point where she was ready to marry him, they got engaged and everything. He did want to her for her money true but the lie he told was that HE wanted her money. The truth he had a son, a child with his previous wife and he wants money for his child. He wanted her surname Winter that she got from the emperor. And this made her mad, and she cut off his genitals. Lucius wanted to kill him for hurting the woman he loves, but he respects her punishment for him.

Damn, this dude's luck is the worst. He couldn't escape his murderous psychopathic boyfriend and now he's getting raped and beat up because said murderous psychopathic boyfriend lied to him about why he lost his memories. Also, are you happy now, Mujin? You killed all those doctors because you didn't want them to take Cho-ah from you, and now you're traveling together with a guy who literally forcefully took Cho-ah. That's what all your stupid psychotic nonsense gets you.
While I'm sure the ML was a pawn in most of what happened and had no personal desire to kill the FL's family, I still don't like him because of his shamelessness. The king I can understand. The king is obviously a massive asshole who thinks of the FL as a possession that he simply took back from a brother who "stole" her from him, and probably genuinely can't understand why she's not acting like a good little girl after he "saved" her and returned her to her rightful place as princess. But if the ML truly loves her so much, he should know how important her family was to her, and the fact that he has shown her zero regret so far really gets under my skin. I really hope this is addressed in later chapters, like he volunteered for the mission because he didn't want strangers to be the ones who killed his old friends or he can't show the FL any remorse because the king has people constantly watching him, because right now he just seems like an idiot and a jerk.
Lol, I can see a lot people disliking the ML right now for what he had done. The entire family massacre incidence is still shrouded in mystery, not a lot of facts have been told about that. The story will keep going back & forth to reveal what truly happened that night little by little. So don't worry, it will be addressed, it is the crux of the problem after all. And the ML isn't really such bad guy, I know it's hard to believe rn, but we'll get to see his sincerity later on. And yeah, the father really is a massive a-hole everybody will love to hate. I think you're gonna hate him more & more as the story progresses. At least that's how I feel after reading about 20 chapters or so. There are a string of unfortunate small coincidences that caused the rift between the father & the uncle, & I get that not all of it is the father's fault. But how he decided on things & his actions after that were what sealed everybody's fate, all the way to the next generations. That's how big of an impact he was, & so I put most of the blame on him. The FL is the biggest victim here, she was literally being cornered to the brink of insanity, all through no fault of her own. She was quite content living as a commoner in that small house, she doesn't want for power or opulence. I really can't wait to see the flashback episodes on the father's younger days, coz there are so many things I don't quite get while trying to read on my own. I literally have headaches trying to understand what's happening, lol.
Sorry father?' Are you referring to the one who raised her or the one who is currently the king?
I'm referring to her real father, the current king. The one who raised her is her uncle, the younger brother of the current king.
