the author will probably make an arc where the seme actually receives help either with the uke leaving him or the uke helping him. i actually like how the story unfolds. it kind of gives a certain unique vibe compared to how the high school yaoi stories go.
you can't really hate on the seme since he really have a terrible past that resulted to a huge obsession about dependency and ownership bUTTT man is he crazy
he has antisocial personality disorder and the criteria for that certain disorder literally says "individual does not abide the social norm" and "individual does not feel remorse in harming himself or others"
so for people who expect wooyeon to change dramatically, drop this story now.
i'm currently reading the book and his current actions are a result of neglect from his parents and it's not just some lame ass reason but they literally threw him to another country so they won't be able to experience the symptoms of his disorder.
and for those people who wiil say that he should go to therapy. therapy does not work for people with ASPD, especially to his case. he did not receive the proper treatment and proper medication when he was a child. his ASPD was for sure diagnosed in his late teens bc the criteria says that the individual must be 18 before the diagnosis so there's a high chance that his symptoms worsen bc of the facade he had when he pretended that he was just a normal dude.
and for those people who will say that he'll change. he won't. his inner monologues still include his thoughts to dominate and inflict pain towards inseop bc he likes seeing him cry.
keep in mind that he doesn't feel any kind of remorse in the thought of killing someone. he's borderline psychopath.
so again, don't expect too much from his character.
He does change towards the end of the story, but it's in his own way. Wooyeon is never going to be the sweet nurturing type, but he will have fleeting moments of kindness and does end up treating Inseop much better.
But I agree that people need to move on to a different story if they are expecting this giant change overnight or expecting him to be sweet all of a sudden.
Agreed. I have never expected him to change, even if the MC hadn't entered ML's life he'd have gone living his psychopathic life his way. And if you look at it, despite knowing his personality the only reason Peter didn't actively want to pursue a relationship with him was that Peter thinks he is responsible for Jenny's death. So if not for Jenny having a one-sided crush on him and dying bc of him, Peter would not mind being with him.

Yeah tbh I don't want to blame Peter too much. But I personally find it very repulsive when two people start competing in love for someone who doesn't even know they exist. I mean, I'd honestly feel bad for Wooyeon if he wasn't a psychopath and was simply dragged in thos mess bc both Peter and Jenny had one sided feelings for him. That would make an interesting story though, Peter being all 'I'm gonna avenge my dead friend' and coming all the way to SK to find faults with Wooyeon and expose him but finding nothing but that he is kind person. It would be fun and light with cat and mouse dynamic.
I actually despise Jenni more than anyone else in this story. She is so manipulative and selfish and knew her death would make Inseop feel guilty both because of her actual death nd because of his feelings for Wooyeon. She took the way out of if I can't have him I'm gonna make sure that no one else that I know gets to have him either and was trying to set up Inseop to fail. If only she knew......
jenny has symptoms of bipolar disorder 1 or the the type of BPD who's violent. she also has issues with people around her so it's most likely she has anxiety too along with her depression
tbh jenny is your usual high school girl with tons of imagination and it became lethal bc her fantasies werre fueled with her manic episodes and extreme desire of being included.
jenny was also manipulative and peter was the perfect person to manipulate bc he sees the best in people.
peter on the other hand shows a borderline obsessive behavior rooting from his lowkey crush towards wooyeon
all in all, they are both victims and perpetratorsto their own lives. jenny just had the upperhand in the manipulation.

this manga, as problematic as it is, tells so much about how peer pressure works. they say teens who are in high school, treats high school as their life that's why the caste holds so much power because students fuel the caste through their fear.
the story is toxic. it's ogawa chise, what do you expect? but the story line is clear and it had a clear purpose. it wanted to show readers that villains are also victims.
i've read this story so many times and i still feel am fascinated with how they approach the story. i love that the mc was not a pushover and that he was the only one who stayed true to himself.

the story progression is great but man, why did it have to start with taeju being an ass ಠ_ಠ i get the gangster/mob type of guy from the outside but softie in the inside trope and ik submission to sex is more of a dominance act in ABO verse but to people who don't fully understand the way ABO verse works, taeju will always be that mf who raped the MC
fortunately, there is a redeemable arc for taeju but i just really hoped the author did not had to go through that kind of introduction of plot bc it ruins the big picture of how good of a guy taeju is

2nd, the reason many thought Cain was endgame was with Jooin monologues esp when Cain first left. Talking about how he miss him and the warmth he gave, then talking about how he wanted to embrace Cain the way Cain did for him. The tip of the ice was the ring. So many really believed there was a change of direction that Cain was gonna be endgame.
Even during the birthday chapter Jooin said he liked Cain and does want try things with Cain. So all this collaborates into why others thought he was an option, not necessarily the cover you know.
