Thank you for translating, I really do appreciate it, but not finishing vol. 1 and jumping to vol. 2 just seems weird. I'm not sure why exactly, except that they said they were summarizing the rest of the vol. 1 on their blog, but that hardly is quite the same thing. First, if you do a summary at least make it easily available with the scans. Second with only one chapter out I'm not likely to be invested enough in any story to bother to search out someone's blog for summaries of the rest of the vol. instead of an actual translation. I'll think it a pity, but I'll skip it as too much of a bother.
I think that's because vol 1 is licensed and vol2 isn't
If that's the case, it will only be a matter of time before vol. 2 and the rest are licensed won't it? And then there will be same issues as with vol. 1. Or has the publishers lost interest, and have no further plans to continue translating and publishing the rest of the series, in which case they most likely will be indifferent to any licensing issues regarding vol. 1. Perhaps though it is a matter of timing, getting the translation out before they get the license.
they are selling vol1 but are apparently dropped the rest of the volumes.
somebody said they will summarize vol1 for those that can't buy it.
just check this comment section
And as I wrote above, a summary is not anywhere near the same thing as an actual visual translation. If they had at least included it in their upload, it would be one thing, but for me who doesn't have access to the first vol., how likely am I to care enough based on that first chapter to go find someone's blog just read a written summary of the rest vol.? Just so I can get to read the rest?
The personalities of the uke and seme seem to have switched, but really since when did those "role" models get set in stone? Granted this is fiction, but even in fiction characters can be made to break molds.
But the uke sure has a screw loose. Whether or not he is "flaming" (= internet bullying) for a good cause or not, it still isn't a good way to solve a problem, and he shouldn't be surprised that there are people payed to stop that sort of thing. Still the uke tries to stop it. And he does that by rape.....and blackmail. What a swell guy!
So once again there's a couple with communication issues. Not only do they tell half of what's going on, but put things in a way that beg to be misunderstood. And on top of that they seem to be almost willfully misunderstanding each other. No wonder this relationship isn't working out. Well, that's yaoi for you.
While I'm pretty sure Ui did suffer from some memory loss, I'm also sure he lied about not remembering Natsuno. Then Natsuno in turn lies about their past and claims to be an x-lover. Now they are both going to have to pay for those lies. While Natsuno has to pretend to be a gay ex, Ui has to pretend not to remember him at all, the guy who was the love of his youth and probably still is. They have trapped themselves rather well.
I think there's several indications that Ui does remember but chooses to pretend not to. For the same reason he never got in touch after high school with Natsuno despite having been close friends but did stay in touch with some of the other classmates. Once Ui had made his confession he could no longer accept their friendship status. It was easier not to meet or to meet as strangers (I suppose to help keep the distance rather than having to be all pally).
While I think the manga is fun and all that, the mangaka does seem to have a bad habit of ending chapters right when our MC's are getting down to business. Really wish that would stop. Smex cliffhangers are not what makes me continue reading, but for a story like this where the smex plays a really big part, having too many cliffhangers in the middle can ruin the smex and so the story.
Obviously since it was only one short chapter that seemed to switch to the past in the middle, it was a bit confusing. But hopefully with the next few chapters that will clear up. But if you're one of those who reads a few comments before the manga, then I'd suggest you wait until there's at least another chapter or two before starting.
Go to m.now-do.com and search They are a couple. You can read it there. http://m.now-do.com/works/6410554774683385861

If the uke gets the chance, meaning that camera on the last page, it seems like he'll now be able to play that role with real feeling. But I hope he will learn from the movie, and choose more wisely, deciding instead to leave what is an unhealthy relationship for him. THEN the seme can come after him and confess, and we can get a HEA, because after all this is a yaoi manga.
It may not be an unhealthy relationship. We see in yaoi all the time girls who are broken up with and refuse to leave their ex alone. They always find some excuse to come around. And then when the partner was straight there is fear and worry on the part of the gay partner that because they were initially straight they'll leave them thinking the relationship was a mistake. This usually leads to miscommunication on the part of the one who is insecure, and because of his insecurities he doesn't ask questions because he fears the answer and the possible end of the relationship. The seme is serious about the uke you can see that plainly, I think the seme alreasy ended the relationship with the gf, he's too blunt and serious to play around unnecessarily like that.
There's a point where the seme gets a call (when he and the uke have just been together) and tells the caller that he's still at work, a lie. After which he tells the uke he has to go home. This leads the uke to assume he has a girlfriend. Whether or not the uke is correct about this, the seme still told a lie to someone about where he was for some reason. What I don't get is if it ISN'T a girlfriend, why lie about being at work? Why not just say he's with a friend? I assume since he's an adult he's allowed to spend his free time with what friends he wants, and whoever was calling wasn't psychic or had x-ray vision that can see for miles.
And I have to admit I haven't seen much evidence that the seme is "serious" or "plainly" cares for the uke. He openly admitted to being a sex friend with the actress, and until now he hasn't said or done anything to put the relationship with the uke beyond that footing. So why should the uke think he's any different from the actress? That he enjoys the sex with the uke more?
