I've read countless mangas but OMG i love this one. The love square (?) was executed perfectly and also goes to show that not everything goes the way u want it to. The story and the characters were all pretty realistic and true to life. It showed the real experiences of how a queer man or woman might feel in such a conservative country like Japan, especially during the time this was written. I felt al kinds of emotions while reading, and even after rereading countless times i still feel them all the same. Regardless of what anyone says I actually really enjoy the ending. Although, like everyone else, I obviously would have liked more interaction between the two, but I felt that it was fitting for a bittersweet yet heartwarming story such as this.

I love a lot of this authors work but this easily one of their best. Two GROWN ADULT MEN in love and actually portraying a somewhat real lifestyle. I was lwk surprised to see which one the uke was but i must say i was pleasantly surprised. This is a wholesome, easy, short read but still is able to pull certain different emotions out of the reader. I highly recommend this manga

As someone who has read thousands of stories, this one easily falls in my top 5 romance mangas. It's been a while since i've last read this but it still seems fresh in my mind. The characters and their feelings are very realistic, unlike those of recent and older mangas. The infamous misunderstanding arc was executed perfectly, and unlike other stories it didn't make me mad (i have a very short temper). It was a story of two high schoolers in love but, their story was realistic, yet very cute and wholesome, it makes u want to experience this kind of love for yourself. Their problems and struggles were realistic and was even relatable at times. I was actually able to really immerse myself in this story as the characters were really compelling and cute. Also I love seeing two idiots in love

i read and reread a lot of mangas and manhwas of all genres but oh my god i don't think i've read anything that has pissed me off like this one. I first read this back in 2018 bc my mom loves it and she recommended it to me after we watched the anime. I hated the anime too but I didn't want my mom to be sad so I reluctantly read it, and OMG i regret it. I hate not finishing stories (manga and anime both) when i've already started them and if I do drop them then there must be a good reason why. I have gotten so close to dropping ts so many times but I persevered to the end and let me tell yall this. DONT PICK TS UP UNLESS U WANT UR BLOOD TO BOIL!! When I was watching the anime I actually liked Kou at first, he was ur standard nonchalant black haired anime boy, but i started disliking him towards the end. I thought i would just feel neutral abt him but OH MY GOD WHY IS HE SUCH AN ASS. it's as if the author wanted the readers to hate him, because the way he does everything the exact OPPOSITE of what you want him to do just makes my blood boil. Like part way through I wasn't even sure he liked Futaba anymore despite it supposedly being for her sake or smth. Also the amount of emotional and mental roller coasters that this story had was not worth it for the ending and also it just was not necessary for the story. The author should have just kept it simple, or at least not have inflated such a simple story to one of this size and drama, regardless of whether it was generic.
Feel free to debate me on this hot take as I know a lot of ppl like this story, but I promise if you reread this in a mind of someone who has matured since their middle school days, u will also realize how shitty this story and all the characters are, and how this is not a shoujo romance but a psychological thriller for the readers
follow

nah I agree with u I understand their teenagers and with Kous family situation it’s difficult, but some of these characters ahem *narumi* ahem *kou* even futaba sometimes like girl yall really wanted me to rip my hair out of my head. I was honestly rooting for that other guy and you but whatever I think since the situation Kou was in it was pretty difficult for him to like understand how to like someone properly, you saw how he was with narumi and he just kissed her without having any feelings for her so I don’t think boy has any knowledge liking someone properly but still. This manga pissed me off greatly but it was one of my first so ig it has a pass

DUDE I SWEARR like I put my phone down so many times this mf was acting no chalant one second the other he’s like “I’m gonna steal her back” boy syabu you had like how many chances again? Right, I need you to heal first look after yourself especially cause your a teenager rn going through a difficult time and what we’re not going to do is have a relationship with someone solely on trauma bonding ( we all saw how that went with narumi) and that girl had the audacity to tell futaba to stop b*tching, GIRLLL shush be quiet omg.

Why? He is a realistic flawed teenager who made mistakes, learns and grows from them. The guy got emotionally manipulated, felt guilty for moving on from his mother's death and thought a relationship whilst he was stuck in a dark place would harm Futaba. He even asked Futaba to comunicate, what he should do but she refused to. Only thanks to Kominato and his friend did Kou realise time doesn't stand still, that it's okay to be happy, that he can make Futaba and tried to fix everything again. He literally looked for Futaba in the crowd but Touma noticed that, hugged her so they wouldn't meet and demanded a YES as an answer.

With that I do agree but I guess it’s just how many shoujo manga I’ve read and the repetitive nonchalant male lead ignoring the female lead/ not communicating or just not acknowledging her feelings etc, etc that made me pissed off at Kou as he did most of that in half of manga. Although I do understand that does stem from most of his past trauma, it’s good he has improved thanks to those around him though. But then again they are teenagers as I’ve mentioned in my comment above so it’s completely normal, I’m just tired of reading the same personality male lead over and over again but this was just me rereading for funsies.

Kou never ignored the female lead and even beggd her to communicate saying "You are always going on about talking so let's talk", Futaba herself rejected his attempt despite Kou chasing after her. He frequently asked her how she felt too but Futaba refused him each time. In the end they are just teenagers navigating life and growing. I personally like that Kou took his time to heal and didn't treat Futaba as his therapist. A relationship whilst he was stuck in deep depression and full of doubts would.have backfired for both of them.

okay i read this a long time ago and have refused to reread it since but i don't remember this part can you remind me again? also what was the whole plot with like Kou's childhood friend girl? i only remember that futaba thought that Kou "chose her" over herself (or smth like that maybe he actually did choose her).

I come back to this short manhwa every time i read something really bad or if i get bored but i still love it. Not only am i sucker for two hot ppl in love, but i'm even more of a sucker to two hot ppl who are hopelessly in love. And I particularly like this one bc it's not as rushed as these recent stories which try to chop it up in 60 chapters or less. The story is interesting, the romance is good, the artstyle is amazing, and on top of all of that they give u an amazing side story. They are sometimes where I get a little annoyed but it works out perfectly, and is it really a good story if u don't have that one character u hate? LOL
Anyways I HIGHLY recommend this as a first read for any new readers on here

ik that this work has been on here for a while, but if yall like this then pls go watch the voices acted version on youtube it's so good. Anyways this is lwk controversial but i really like them tgt . I think their dynamic (at least at the end of the story) is very cute. But then again i'm a hopeless lover of the "I fell first, but he fell stronger" trope so i'm biased. I'm just such a sucker for hot ppl who r hopelessly in love.

BRO WTH THAT WAS IT!?! here i was giggling abt the two and BOOM its fucking over . PLEASE GIVE ME SIDE STORIESSSSS. This is by far one of the best romance action manhwas i've read in a while. It wasn't generic, or too cliche, it had the PERFECT amount of romance and storytelling, and a good mix of characters (both infuriating and adorable). I love both of the main characters a lot (which rarely happens these days ) and the fantasy part of the story was interesting. I wish they could've taken the story further towards the end, as it felt kind of rushed. But I understand as the author was adapting a novel while going through health struggles. Nonetheless I loved this and want more

okay i won't lie they are cute but their "love story" doesn't even make much sense. I came back to reading this after a while so i reread it and i still don't get how they love each other. Also why does Ji Young (or wtv his name is) look different every panel . The art is good so i'll let most of the story slide ig

so in short they rlly skipped over the inner monologues in this adaptation and also changed some scenes. Tbh if I only read the manhwa it looks like they became in loved w each other over night or smth or that were seeing fragments of their lifes instead of a day by day, they shouldve bother to make it more close to the novel╥﹏╥

It's the trauma of being rejected by their own pack. They are both afraid of being alone for the rest of their lives. And I think, it has a lot to do that puppy has no one else left in this world that cares and loves him.
But also also because puppy is very aggressive and wants revenge, and wolf actually supports ant loves that side of him. So puppy feels like he has his back and let's him be himself. So puppy slowly started having feeling towards wolf, but it took him some time to accept them.
Now wolf is another story. Puppy was his time from the start, cute, sexy and feisty. But what made him interested in him is that wolf has a strong sense of smell and can't handle pheromones. That's the reason why he never had sex with his ex. So puppy, who has a low pheromone count, was practically his ideal. Basically, he was the only one who could have sex with that wolf without the wolf becoming hostile from pheromones. I think that's what physically attracted him.
But he ended up falling in love with the puppy' personality. In other words, he likes tsuderes. He also likes that puppy doesn't fear him and is brave enough (or stupid enough), to hit him if he doesn't like something.
I think they compliment each other. A feisty uke and a mafia-murderous seme. The puppy calms down the wolf from killing everyone, and the wolf supports the puppy on his fights. Any damage the puppy does, is nothing compared to what the wolf can do. For him, what the puppy does is child's play and cute.

Thank you for your reply!! I always love discussing and seeing other people's interpretations! (Also your english was perfect dw ♀). I also love their dynamic and think they r very cute. I also understand that they indeed are in love and the author somewhat conveys that in the story, however I just wished they could've shown it better. The relationship seems so much more deeper, and emotional, yet we don't get to see it expressed in a definitive way. I do see how they fell in love and why they continue to love each other, but they make it seem very shallow.
Idk if this made much sense but i hope it did

okay i usually hate big age gaps bc i end up doing the math in head but this one was particularly bad. Like the scene when he thought of the uke (AS A KID) during S E X and FUCKIG CAME?!?!?!?!??!!!?? bro was like 18 thirsting over a 6 year old KID. WTF. i did think they knew each other for a while but hell naw.
okay as much as I love this story and the art this was highkey mid...
Of course I like the characters and the story was okay but nothing stuck out to me that much ( well ig other than the art). The story was kinda generic and predictable, the characters don't particularly stand out as different or unique, and the ending and honestly the whole story felt kinda rushed. I know a lot people really like this story and reread this a lot, but i feel like either they are really young or are only hyping it up bc they read it when they were in middle school and it's nostalgic to them. I've reread this before just to see if i was missing something when i read it when I was younger, but I doubt it. Although I do agree that this is a good first read kind of story. I recommend it for any new readers.
To me this doesn't stick out much from other stories I've read and ppl are glazing it too much. Feel free to debate me on this tho.
imo a story being generic and predictable ≠ being mid. i think these predictable, stereotypical tropes are commonly seen bc they are good and popular enough to even become tropes. so i think that the "uneventful", generic story line is its charm since it doesn't need jaw-dropping, drama filled plot points to stay engaging. and plus, i think that the author executed this story well!
yes i agree but it's more the way that people glaze this to be one of the best romance manhwas, when there are hundreds of other ones that are better, yet remain underrated. I'm not saying a story has to otherworldly and not cliche for it to be really good, but at the same time if a story is unimaginative it's bound to be mediocre. I think if this story pushed its boundaries a bit further it could have definitely been better.
ofc i also read predictable, generic, and cliche stories such as this and i actually enjoy them, but i don't think they are the best. They get the job done of being a quick and wholesome read.
