I figured it was Ayame since she's been his girl companion from the beginning, and that's usually how things go in manga, but then Nanako showed up again and seems to also be in the typical main girl role (damsel in distress MC wants to save, plus they have a history). So like between the two Nanako seems more important to him, but even though he treats Ayame like crap he still saves her so I just don't know.
