I have a question to the people who defend sangwoo. What quality about him is the least bit notable? He's a serial killer who has 0 empathy. He treats Bum like shit and deceived him multiple times. "His past is sad" he has a reason to justify his shitty personality but at the end of the day its just that: a shitty personality. Bum isn't even a likeable character at all. I don't mind him depending on sangwoo because his whole life he's been mistreated and abused but he has done some things that are bad too. Though at this point I'm not staying for the characters. I'm staying for the story, it's really good. But the people that want sangwoo to get away is to me weird because I can't think of a reason why. I'm not complaining i'm just curious why you guys want him to prevail?
I'm guessing because he is one of the main characters and is good looking that people defend him. By far he is nowhere near a charismatic killer. Most of us here are unstable yaoi fans so we just defend our MC's even shitty ones. Also Bum plays a part in it. Yes he isn't a likeable character in a sense that his personality isn't fluffy or strong or cute. But you can't help but feel for him and his struggles in life. Yeah he has done bad things but he is a victim in all of it. Nothing he did was done out of pure evil. And because of it since Sangwoo is literally the only person that Bum feels ok around people want them to be happy together... As for others they just like sociopaths
I don't defend Sangwoo or his actions, but I do have to admit that he is my favourite character. Well, I've always watcher/read documentals about serial killers, so Sangwoo is so interesting to me in a psychological way. I don't want him to get caught yet because I don't want the story to end just like this. I think it's better if there's more to it. I want to see what happened to him in the past (what lead him to become a serial killer), how much of a psycho he is and such. Is interesting to me how he, in a way is also dependant of Bum. Although is obvious that Bum is so much weaker than Sangwoo.

It's like a mixture of that and other stuff like:
*We're used to things turning out a certain way with yaoi. We're used to happy endings for most arseholes. Semes do fucked up sh*t and they get forgiven by the uke. Everyone's happy. The end. We're used to supporting arseholes I guess.
*Good writing. Though this isn't strictly true for this manga because these are such interesting FLAWED characters. Very flawed. Would not recommend their lives. With most things we're meant to relate to the main character, see things through their eyes and travel with them on their journey. I would say Bum's the one whose pov we see through. Bum doesn't want Sangwoo caught, therefore we also don't want him caught. That's the pov we're looking through and have bonded with the most, it makes more sense we'd be more sympathetic to this one.
*Now again this could be under good writing. It's the most important reason, certainly for me. If Sangwoo gets caught and put away - that's it. End of story. Bye. You put down the manga. You move on. It's OVER.
Sangwoo and Bum may be fucked up, but that's what makes them such interesting characters to read about and see interact. I don't want to see that end just yet, I wanna know what happens next! This is entertainment, people are just being invested in it ╮(￣▽￣)╭
So excuse me for my rushed writing, I have stuff to do. Ignoring the whole story aspect of it and his tragic past, that's my take on it. Which is probably a bit more cynical. Yay!

I agree with this. I don't defend Sangwoo, but the dynamic between him and Bum is still interesting, and now the story has a cat-and-mouse thing going on, so I don't want him to get caught yet. I'm on Bum's side first. Then the officer's. I'm really cheering for Sangwoo last, but he is entertaining and interesting, so it is what it is. I said a long time ago I'd be happy with almost any outcome Koogi comes up with.

Lol, If you really think about it though, what the cops are doing is really low. Not only did one cop break into his house without a warrant, he's sticking his nose into something he knows he shouldn't. I'm pretty sure that if Sangwoo gets caught the manga will probably end and I don't want it to. If something like this happened IRL I would never hope the killer got away. I think some people take this story too seriously and that they should just enjoy the story. As one of the main characters I like Sangwoo and his crazy personality. All of the things that happened are just apart of the plot.
I don't really think what he's doing is low but that's only because I know that his intuition is right. If he was way off than it would be low. He's only doing it because he has a strong sense that sangwoo is the one responsible for the deaths and the cop is very passionate about his lead. I think the cop is inappropriately passionate about this case but not necessarily "low". He has no support system and no one trusts him, I think he has to resort to desperate measures for anyone to give him the time of day. I sympathize with him. His intentions are significantly more moral and pure than any character in this manhwa.

Please. I'm with my mom constantly. We don't have a bad relationship anymore but It's something she does, I'm aware of her personality more than you lmao. I'm pretty understanding to peoples issues and problems but you have no fucking idea until you experience that shit.
After a while, you start to realize a person's true intentions. I have siblings who are tired of it too. Explain to me this, she constantly complains about her not having money to support us but goes and buy shit for herself when me and my sister needed the money for basic necessities and school. We couldn't even have a job to buy it for ourselves so we had no option but to rely on her. Even our own distant family members commented on my mom's selfishness and reluctance to buy us new clothes (I remember wearing the same shit from 6th grade on a cycle in LATE HIGHSCHOOL) and hygiene products while she goes out and spends money on expensive perfume, makeup, and clothes.

I'm not a critic so I think my opinion is irrelevant but I'm pretty happy that they changed the story in the anime release. Although the manga is very sweet and cute it has a lot of pacing issues that I don't think would adjust well at all in the adaption. I had pretty low expectations of the anime because I assumed it would be similar to the manga but to my surprise they changed a few things around and it was a lot easier to digest. How are you guys liking it so far? ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

I have to agree with you although i dont like sometimes where they abruptly change into the other story. (They go from the Hitorijime Boyfriend into the Hitorijime Hero storyline.) I also prefer Hasekuras personality in the anime so far hes not that possesive or jealous although i dont like him in general xD (I hate pushing people/characters in general) From Hitorijime Hero i really enjoy both characters and story ,Masahiro my babes so cute (づ￣ ³￣)づ And i want the Hitorijime Boyfriend storyline to finally finish so i can enjoy my Masahiros love story <3
I comepletely agree with you! I like how they combined the two stories together. I don't have an issue with the title since for me, even though Hitorijime Boyfriend came first, Hasekura and Kensuke are more of an side story. :v And the episode 2 is focused more on Kensuke and Hasekura so it's well balanced... although I'd reallt hate it if they would suddenly rush everything when it's time for My Hero's story...
