I think the reason people are so angry about the rape is becusse they weren't expecting it, I think people came into this manga think fluff and fluff and cute baby shit so when the rape happened it caught people by surprise they weren't mentally prepared for it. Let's be honest the yaoi genre is not a great representation of gay relationships and I think most of us has been reading this stuff long enough to beware of that and let's not even pretend this is the most fucked rape scene we've come across. Take BJ Alex for example Alex is a straight up dick, his face even screams hot asshole so when he did something fucked up to DG I wasn't shocked, I was pissed but I already made my peace that Alex was cable of something this shitty, I was mentally prepared for the worse. We've seen it so many times something terrible happens but they move on from it or dont even address it and are main guys get there happy ever after or whatever. About Hosik's story I read it before it was ever translated and I was so happy when it was, reading it in English did change my opinion on some stuff. Things I thought were super cute actually turned out to be not as cute but I do think it's worth the read, especially if you like mpreg. It's a cute story especially when we get into the later chapters so I think we all should relax and enjoy. Because at the end of the day we all known rape is wrong, I'm pretty sure that even people who commit rape know it's wrong they just dont give a shit but that's an argument for another time, anyway this isn't the worse we've seen and it sadly probably wont be that last so can we relax please. I think some people are tired that they have to keep having moral discussions on the comment section when all they really want to do is find other people to fangirl with.
Say it louder for the people in the back. It's so true! As well as the fact that these stories....the characters....are not real. They are fictional. Why waste your anger and negativity towards something that's (fake) but with a real world stigma? If people can't get over it, maybe Yaoi/BL Manga isn't the genre for them.
Because real world stigma influences stories like these? The manhwa itself being fiction doesn't change the fact that people's understanding and interpretation of certain scenes can differ. "Get over it" is a lazy thing to say.

I have had this argument so many times before about how unrealistic and unflattering yaoi presents gay relationships and why is rape such a popular plot device. Rape comments already exist in those said manga you mentioned. You're making a big assumption that because people mention the rape it means they don't like the entire manga?? Is that what you think every time someone mentions a flaw? That the flaw equates to hating everything about the plot? Mentioning rape is just that. It's always the responses that cause what would have been an opinion on the rape to turn into a full blown argument on rights to comment ones opinion.
For the record, this story is getting bad rep because instead of letting people comment what they dislike, some people want to tell them to shut up, all because "fiction". Rape is not new, but just because it's common doesn't mean you get to tell others to not feel a certain way after reading it.

I apologize for assuming. However, if what you say in the last sentence there is true, then you should understand why someone would comment about it. And exhausting as it may for you to re-read it over and over again, people will continue to comment, especially new readers who might be upset by it. You may not be directly telling someone to not voice their opinion, but it is indirectly saying that when you say it's exhausting to read about it. Right now with the present chapters, we see rape. I have seen many comment on the fact that it will be explained later why it is not rape. I think that is great and maybe once it is explained, the comments will stop. But right now with the given chapters, readers are free to continue talking about it.
It's cool and I think when we can has a clam discussion like this it's fine but there are some people on both side of the argument being straight up rude to each other, but I get it were only 17 chapters in so people are going to react to what they see now it's normal and rape is such a touchy topic of course people will be upset about it and honestly I think it's the day when we see rape in a manga and we dont get upset ,that's when well seriously have a problem.

I know this is fiction so it really those not bother much especially in 19 days cause it's mostly stuff that stupid teenagers do to each other. but my problem is that as a whole the yaoi genre is full of rape, dickish borderline abuse semes and sexual harassment its EVERY. The big difference is that in a crime movie, they mostly doesn't "praise" the murders actions. When the murderer kills someone, it's displayed as something awful not something that leads to a happy ending.
In yaoi however, you see a lot of happy endings after rape like the uke realizing that he likes the seme after the rape or just accepts the action like it was nothinh for example. And honestly this happens way too often in yaoi!
So comparing it to movies with crimes or war is just stupid. Have you ever seen a rape scene in a movie were the victim is dancing happily the day after?
I dont think that's what they ment we are not talking about moives or any other form of media not every movie has rape, sexual harassment, murder or ect. But the yaoi genre especially has a lot of those things in it and anyone whoes read yaoi for a while has notice rape or sexual harassment/assault is a popular plot device which I dont understand why. Exactly, I agree with you completly. It should be taken more seriously, a lot of time the guy treats the other like shit and rapes him and then the other one falls in love like it was nothing. I'm not saying those topics shouldn't appear in mangas, but they should be given more thought.
Yeah, it's exactly as you are saying. It's a problem in general with a lot of yaoi mangas, a lot of them portray really unhealthy relationships and sometimes it's hard to realize about that. I would even say it's kind of misogynistic too in some cases. But, well, thankfully, not all yaoi mangas are like that.
And, yeah, 19 days doesn't really fall into that category.
Yes, I honestly don't mind it so much anymore, but like someone said before it's way too common in manga and especially in yaoi and starting to be a norm which is just sad.
After Mo started crying when He Tian forced that kiss onto him and then didn't stop to go after Mo and force himself onto him, there was a line crossed for me. I don't like them as a couple, He Tian feels really manipulative. Sure it's always overshadowed by the cleverly input scenes where he is suddenly soo compassionate and caring about Mo and shit. But those really feel off to me after he treated him like shit a lot. I mean yeah, maybe he notices he has some feelings for Mo but it won't suddenly make him less of a manipulative (also overpowered) asshole and romanticizing that is just kind of disgusting. I loved reading the story of Jian Yi and Xixi because they weren't so typically Yaoi with one always being after the other so much and forcing himself on him until the other magically falls for him because he is... yeah what? A total dick? Yeah, that's the reason you fall for someone, sure.
I am really trying to like Alex but it is so fucking hard he is such an asshole. Yes Alex is superhot but watching him with DG leave a bad taste in my mouth. Besides the physical attractiveness there's nothing remotely pleasing about this couple.
