I recommend the translator to just drop this manhwa. As a professional translator it’s disgraceful and completely unprofessional to see someone think they can just have their personal input all over someone else’s work like that. Also, I’ve read so many twisted and dark or straight up abusive manga over the years, by countless of different scanlation groups and none of them did the original author this kind of disrespect.

?? a translator inputting their own opinion on an original piece of work, thinking they can force the readers to consume a version of the story under the lens of their personal opinion is the disrespect here. I doubt anyone held a gun to their held to make them translate or write all those notes. And as a reader, I don’t see why I have to look at their holier than thou input either

This is a 18+ comic......you know there’s a reason porn artists on twitter will literally remove underage followers right? Cause there are specific content geared towards specific people, in specific spaces and no one is obligated to be responsible for educating kids while enjoying their kinks. Also I’ve seen translators and even authors themselves write notes at the end of the page educating people or reminding them fiction =/= real life, but this translator is just being downright nasty all over the work itself. They sound like they read some discourse on twitter and now are parroting it all over someone else’s work that they don’t even LIKE? Real bipolar things

Just because a story is a fantasy created to make BDSM enthusiasts horny, it doesn’t mean that it’s gonna adhere to the rules of irl BDSM.
BDSM itself is a practice where someone might safely experience non-con or their rape fantasy etc. But fiction is already a safe situation where the reader can experience all that. Therefore, it can be as nasty and kinky as you like, it doesn’t NEED to have safewords, cause it’s not a real life relationship!

First of all, how can they have a sibling relationship when FL hopped into this world, immediately became head of the family, ML went to school right after that and only came back in like a year?
So like, at most they are friends and partners who rely on each other. Would you feel sibling affection for someone who you just met in in your 20s (in the case of FL)?Also if people feel uncomfortable at the moniker “noonim”, that is based on a misconception of Asian culture. “Noona” “Nee-san” “Jiejie” are all used to call older females one is closed to.
Not only that but they are even used as nicknames between lovers in some Asian countries. I’m chinese and for example, in an old wuxia drama (LOCH) where the FL called the MC “Jing-gege” aka “brother Jing” after they became lovers. Just like girls call their bfs “oppa” in Korea. Also immediately connecting that moniker to practices like maid cafes is just ?????? to an asian person, personally.
You are all free to feel uncomfortable with the set up, but claiming that “noona/noonim” is there to set up real incest when ML p much just being respectful to someone senior is just a stretch. It’s also definitely not disrespectful of others to dismiss your concerns 44 chapters into this story, which has obviously always been about romance between non blood related step-siblings.
I’d say it’s the rest of us that have to deal with this discourse about technically non-existent incest by people standing on a precarious moral high ground, just because they couldn’t make the decision to drop something they don’t enjoy. Like, WHAT is it gonna take to weed you people out?
all the men in this story are either in love with the previous empress, or with Shuli who looks just like her and.....i completely understand
