In general, I prefer stories where ML falls in love first, just because when MC falls first, before ML reciprocates, we see firsthand the angst of his unrequited love. But I can enjoy a story where MC is more mature and more in tune with their feelings and as a result, recognizes the connection first. I just hope that ML doesn't take forever to stop being emotionally constipated and responding rudely to MC
ouf I'm so happy that the reason the emperor was opposed to their marriage is because of political reason and not some prophecy. I just thought he might not want them to get together because of some revelation, saying that two descendants of saintesses will bring ruin to the kingdom or end up making each other unhappy or whatever
Listen, they're both annoying and guilty for causing this misunderstanding but I'm getting more frustrated with ML recently because he says the worst thing at the worst time. MC was just about to tell him that the whole ring thing is bullshit and he went and opened his mouth and said the absolute worst word vomit of all time. I get that he has childhood trauma but it constantly seems like he is expecting mroe from MC than he himself is willing to give. MC is understanding and forgives stuff like ML giving the card as if MC is some kept mistress....I just don't see ML being half as understanding.
Again, both are horrible at communicating but ML is on another level of this shit
I always kinda hold my breath when reading scenes in which one character ties up another during sex (even with full consent) especially when the character being tied up has some trauma related to abuse or kidnapping or anything like that just because it can backfire and go from sexy to traumatic in a fraction of a second.
I don't remember which story I previously read portrayed the character freaking out and reliving their abuse and since then, these scenes always make me anxious. Glad this didn't turn that way.
Rereading this for the nth time and the whole "shoot him 3 times and rape him for a week which is not only sexual trauma but literally reopens his wounds each time" thing is just beyond cruel and ver unrealistic. The author could have just used either shooting or rape and made their point of the bastard going nuts but combining them and making a regular civilian go throw that and actually survive without any long term issues is a bit silly
Also, while I appreciate that the author added the detail of the nightmares later on even after they got back together, the fact that the very next scene after the extreme rape and bleeding is some cutesy moment in the snow is....a choice. Again, the lawyer is a regular guy who just recently got involved with the mafia. He isn't even some trained agent or anything like that. Yet, you want me to believe that after all that trauma, he saw his abuser and was like "I'm not even flinching as you approach me and kiss me"?

I'm so glad this story turned out so well. Reading the first couple of chapters back when this was first released, I thought the story was going to be about some arrogant annoying ML and a more mature MC. But it didn't take long at all to realize how amazing this is. It warms my heart
