I hate the redhead but he isn't wrong. Even if we all agree to the silly idea that ML never dressed up MC to be like that asshole (author should've done better because the explanation was stupid), ML was so uninterested in MC that he did not bat an eyelid after the guy he supposedly loves was disrespected by his friends ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I would've been on ML's side if he was one of those emotionally constipated guys who acted a little cold in front of MC and didn't know how to express affection but did everything else right and punished anyone who dared disrespect his lover. But, dude was just like "you get to disrespect my guy....you get to disrespect my guy....everyone gets to disrespect my guy"

Here's to hoping that ML isn't toxic at all and manages to balance MC's reactiveness with his mature brhaviour

Seriously though, ML definitely fucked up in their past life in a major way. Had the rape not happened, I would've been mostly on his side because MC did betray him and steal info from him. In this timeline, ML didn't do anything egregious. At most, he was a dumbass especially when he didn't go to the party after explicitly telling ML he will be there (he was there but didn't show up which means fuck all). So, if MC can forgive the rape from the past timeline, then, there isn't any major obstacles facing them. Mc seems to be already halfway through forgiving him so, I assume that this story will end soon

aaaah the second hand embarrassment...I hope that MC doesn't get cringier because I will end up skipping multiple panels just to not see him embarrass himself in front of ML

I think some people are confused because this might be their first guide guideverse story but here is some lore since I've probably read dozens in this genre: while some authors make slight differences in the lore kinda like how vampire and werewolf lore has different takes, there are some common elements:

- in general, guides do not need to have sex with espers to provide guiding, but it is portrayed as the most effective method. So, no, ML didn't need to have sex with his brother to be guided by him. He probably held his hand and that's it.

- some stories portray guiding by your dedicated guide as more effective meaning that the act of becoming a dedicated guide increases the compatibility. Other stories show that once you have a dedicated guide, you can no longer be guided by anyone else ever again.

- some stories use a matching rate to determine the compatibility and the effectiveness of guiding. This depends on the rank so, an S rank guide likely has a higher compatibility rate with an S rank esper than a B class guide. Other stories make the matching rate independent from rank and just turn it into some predetermined soulmate kind of thing.

- some stories have the concept of reverse guiding in which an esper forces the the guide without the guide being willing to provide guiding. Other stories do not even touch upon the subject of reverse guiding.

- in rare occasions, someone could be an esper and a guide at the same time. I remember at least one story where this happened but even in that universe it was super rare

- some stories show espers going through rampage when they are not guided. Other stories show them as being so weak and almost like going through heat (almost showing omega-like traits)

- there is no specific rule that says "espers are semes and guides are ukes" in case you're wondering because I saw comments about this in another story's section.

I'm glad that the author didn't make this stupid by having 02 swayed by that botch 03. I despise that sort of plot

The fuck if going on in this story? Initially, it made some sense for the asshole to be like "I trusted you but you betrayed my trust and killed my empress" (makes sense as in an abuser thinking this way). But he knew all along that MC did no such thing and right now, he is just sexually abusing MC and beating him up and making him emotionally dependent on him only to abandon him ....like wtf? Yes, this isn't the first abusive story I read but usually, the garbage guy thinks MC betrayed him or something similar. This story is just showcasing the torture of MC by ML without any trigger. It's breaking my brain

Honestly, if it's revealed that he isn't at fault at all for the death of that experts guide and all he has done wrong so far is being an insufferable dickhead, I would truly pity him. But from what we know so far, he took an active role in killing at least one person so, do excuse me for not giving a fuck and not being moved because he drank a can of fucking coke and the scene was portrayed like one of those "colour blind kid sees colors for the first time" bullshit videos

I remember when I first saw an older or more built uke and it felt weird initially but it became so normal that I don't even notice it until I read comments where people are talking about it. I guess I'll thank Naono Bohra because from I rememer, I think that their work was my very first introduction to muscular ukes as well as older ukes and the dynamic of semes who are more conventionally pretty x built ukes

Megane older brother is 100% in the wrong for the younger brother's (not blood related) behaviour. He cleaned up every mess he made and along with his parents, they treated the guy like the sun shines from his ass for years since he was a toddler probably. No wonder the dude became an asshole....even his older brother, megane guy, is a major asshole who stood by when MC was going to get raped and cried out for help. He was a rich powerful asshole who could've acted in that situation without major repercussion to his well being or future.

But I guess this is par for the course for many Chinese BLs. They emphasize the assholiness of all characters around MC beside ML and then eventually make all those hateful characters fall for MC romantically or become overly protective and loving if they're family members

This is one of those stories where it feels like the publisher forced the author to end the story because it wasn't selling well ot the author lost motivation because there could've been 30 more chapters at least

Overall, it's like 6/10 for me. It's good enough to pass some time if I'm super bored but I would never reread it and I will forget the plot in 10 days or so.

I don't think that any of the characters is likeable enough. I'm most pissed at MC's brother who crossed the mafia guy and risked MC's life. I understand that he might've felt like he needed to go public with the info because he felt guilty or whatever, but knowing what that asshole is like and knowing that he has MC under his thumb and still deciding to do it without warning MC is such asshole move.

I was hoping for angry Iruma who messes up that guy but I'll take what I can get and I'll enjoy the fact that Iruma is growing a bit and he no longer smiles and bears with it when he is fooled. That is progress

I still don't understand much of what's going on but I'll keep an eye on this because even after all these years, I still enjoy the isekai genre

I loved Josh from the forst time he appeared and Chase is growing on me slowly but surely. I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops
