I've started thinking lately that some beautiful art is wasted on some stories. The art in this one is so suited for a historical setting. The story itself was so promising in the beginning. But the second The author nerfed MC's character and turned him into a love sick puppy vying for the love of abusive ML...that's when this whole thing was ruined for me.

This story had such dark themes but also had some of the fluffiest purest moments ever. I'm glad that the author didn't add the "ML's family disapproves of MC and gives him hell" cliché because we had enough trauma already. The cutest moments are with the younger brother and grandparents.

so much happened in the span of 13 chapters. I'm so used to dragonball-style pacing that this much progress usually takes 2 seasons of at least 30 chapters each

I hope the artist works on actual good stories in the future instead of sadness porn. Not criticizing them because they gotta pay the bills somehow but I wish that this gives them exposure to work on actually good stories.

An airhead fluffy honest guy like Luke is exactly what Andrew needs and maybe that's another thing that made Andrew fall for him so hard. The duality of Luke's personality is so interesting. Sometimes, he reminds me of something that Kaede from Katekyo said about Rintarou and how he feels like a loose balloon without a care in the world. Sometimes, Luke feels like that but the very next scene you realize that he is the very opposite, he has a very heightened sense of what people close to him are feeling and he says the exact right thing at the right moment

I hope that the gang bang rape is just in the flashbacks....That was awful as is and I don't think that can take it if there will be more of that in the future

She was betrayed by the guy she loved 10 times despite her best effort. You can see in the flashback that at some point, she was cold and unfazed because she had given up and even the thought of her imminent execution did not stir any emotion within her.....yet, in her 11th life, the second The guy does something nice she is all melty and forgets all the pain he caused her. That is so stupid. She doesn't even know about the magic/hypnosis. So, from her POV, the guy, out of his own volition betrayed her 10 consecutive times and she is like "teehee might as well risk my head flying for the 11th time teehee".

There are 51 chapters and they only kiss in chapter 45...even for a shonen ai this is so dry in the romance department

MC got it right for once....he said that ML didn't do any of that shit for love, he didn't because of his own inferiority complex. He didn't want to be the omega who is perceived to be weaker and didn't want to be the uke in the relationship so, he disappeared and caused MC to experience trauma for years without knowing what happened to him then, he appeared and forced himself on MC multiple times when MC clearly didn't want to have sex with him...

This mangaka could've made this story great by making the seme suffer and allow uke the opportunity to end up woth someone else....it doesn't even have to be second ML, just a guy who isn't a rapist selfish asshole but nooo we need our ✧ happy ending between MC and ML ✧
