Age gaps like this always kill me (like over 5 years). Imagine how painful it would be to lose your lover to old age and having to live decades afterwards alone. Sure it wouldnt be mentioned in the duration of the story, but that is ever present feeling, a subtle dread that makes it hard to love in fear of losing it.
A style that's reminiscent of older manga types (idk the names of distinctive style, but you just know how older shoujo has a distinct style from say 80s/90s shounen like ranma or yuyu hakusho) and I rrally like that it's a rather innocent romance so far. I like adult content too, but its nice to see something innocent as well
Im sorry but its true. For once I want to see a FL who is willing to risk it all to destroy her enemy. Let me ask you this, what would you do if you had magical powers and were being threatened by an idiot to ruin your career prospects if you dont submit? Id just kill him. Id rather live a fugitive than be their slave. I hate that shes so stupid as to not realize this. She would be a slave to 'protect her dream'. Like he'd let her. She didn't deserve the betrayl and treatment, but after that she would for being so stupid.
Im most interested in the mother. Like woman you marry into a rich family for their money, literally selling yourself. Dress it up however you want but most of the time noble women are just treated as prostitutes. So tell me why you hate the girl so much, and adore youre son. Hell the damn cat gets 10x the financial support. Face it, she's the worst type of woman imaginable.
Not romantically, though i hope shes like a step sister to avoid incest. No, im with her on killing the brother if not the palace. I really hate a protagonist who leaves monsters a live. People who repeatedly show they are fine murdering innocent people. At that point all future deaths are the protagonists fault when it was extremely obvious the antagonist has no morals. Gods i hope hthe brother doesn't live because of misguided mercy
I really really hate the 'misunderstanding trope'. It can be used well like the twist in father i dont want to marry, but its often for stuff like this where the FL grew up feeling hated becuase her family is brain dead and isolate her with their 'overflowing love' that they can't do something as simple as say i love you or be careful. Cant they be better written? Even the abusive family who hates that the FL killed her mother during birth is better written as there is some motive for their actions.
I was interested in the art but now my interest is in the negatives
Im like 4 ch in and its going to be very hard to proceed. Not only do we have to deal with some rather dire depictions of discrimination and the social impedments for every little thing, we also have to see some realistic depictions of how bad medicine used to be. Hell we also have to see things like excessively poor hygine and the harshness of life in the victorian era.
Basically we will get a historical fantasy with the romance stripped away. It will be hard to follow without feeling sick/overwhelmed with the depictions

Im not sure why he truly decided to be subsurvient to the idiot dukes daughter, but really he kinda deserved the subsequent imprisonment and torture. He made the decision to serve her knowing what trash they are, he kinda betrayed his friend who was willing to ensure his happiness. He said its cause theyre rivals, but i hope thats not the true reason. If so he deserves the consequences even more. Honestly I would favor him a lot more if this was a ploy and he would attempt to 'neutralize' the dukes family, but seeing how he did seem earnest in serving her that possible redemption seems less likely. Kir, kinda dislike you now, but again happy youre facing consequences of a dumb decision.
