Wow, that farewell chapter may be my favourite out of the whole story. That graduation picture memory...perfection. Somehow, it wasn't corny or overly sentimental at all, but made of pure sincere emotion--a fitting representation of their bond. Truly wonderful. <3 Thanks so much to the translator who allowed me to experience it too.

There is nothing about this story that requires Riku to be in high school. What is up with this fetishization of high school students? Good grief. It could have been perfect.

Putting him in school makes it easier, just saying. Making him older and having a job means the story wouldn't have been like this. Him being in school while taking care of his little brother. Plot. On his way home or from his brother's school, from school he passes the flower shop. Plot. So... it does require school. Unless you can do better and come up with a fast enough plot when people are rushing you for chapters.

There's this school called a university. They have them in Japan. What is even your point here: that only high schoolers have time to walk by flower shops? Yeah--on the way to *cram school*. Japanese high schools are notoriously stressful and he's a SENIOR. There is no way he would have all this free time to take care of his little brother + exam stress + university prep + all of the other things that teens his age go through.
Guys, neither the plot nor the characters are not realistic. Most BLs aren't. That's okay. I just hate the underage in high school element. That's. All.
And the "rushing you for chapters" excuse is about as stupid as they come. Are you really trying to suggest that all mangakas need to do a school plot with an age gap to do "quick plots"? Do. you. read. manga? I don't need to come up with anything--there are a bajillion different kinds of stories pirated here for your immediate reading pleasure. LOL. Just stop. I mean, you can continue, but if your response is as obtuse as this one I won't respond. Have at it.

Wow. After all that in depth backstory into Kaoru's life how can anyone come out of that focusing solely on how Uta feels? It's not easy (or, often, even useful) to compare different situations but surely by most reasonable measures Kaoru has had a far more painful and difficult life...indeed she is still in the midst of it! FFS. As is surely indicated by the fact that in the middle of a nervous breakdown her one source of support is a high school kid! LOL.
If anyone tells me that reading makes humans empathetic I will direct them to this site cause lololol. It ain't working for a lot of us here.
Kaoru, Uta is not the one. She's a high school girl. Please, to leave her alone. You both need to find your own happiness separately. I'm rooting for the both of you....separately. LOL.
I can't believe she was really going to try again with Reichi. Dump that idiot, please.
Find their happiness separately? DAMN!! Don't break my heart like that
