I feel bad for Sahno, I reread his backstory. I'm not sure why it went over my head the first time, but the poor kid grew up in an unloved home, which ended with a crazy domestic violence incident. He has no contact with his parents. His extended family didn't blame having to take him in, but he really wasn't 'wanted'. He tried to fit in at school, only to find out none of his friends actually liked him.
He's been trying to get on by himself - but he lives paycheck to paycheck. I don't think he goes to uni and can barely support himself. He think's he's trash because he's never been legitimately told otherwise. ): In that context his behaviour makes sense.
I can see how being or accepting to be with someone like Dongha would make him feel insecure and alienated.
