I understand being weirded out that a grown man got married to a kid, but throwing pedophilia around like its a football is such brain rot behaviour.
While our homeboy was a kid his hot omega husband was weirded out, and they got friendly with each other bc wtf else would you do if you were forced to marry a kid? Like they barely touch each other and hang out respectfully. The romance comes way later when he's grown.
It's a thing to begin with to create drama, to have a good reason why the throne was seized, bc it wasn't an uncommon thing throughout history aswell.
Sometimes the answer isn't the worst thing you can imagine, and themes you call problematic can still have a compelling story surrounding it.
fire cat vs ice dog, how riveting.. I totally wonder what their relationship dynamic will be
Im once again realizing how jaded by the genre I've become because the moment FL is all like "but what about those soldiers that deserve respect", portrayed in this very holier-than-thou, I-am-the-perfectly-competent-yet-naive-Mary-Sue vibe, I just cringe.
My soul retracts back into the abyss and I feel the potent need to teach FL a personality through some competent bullying.
If this type of fl had a color I'd pick beige bc the shit she's on is so basic. Does she get any more zest at all?
Huimen might've been delulu or whatever, but he's been carrying this man's ass in this lifetime
I don't know what else BJ is supposed to stand for, so you can imagine what I'm thinking about reading this title
Starting of strong. But so do many other manhwas that just end up breaking my heart so I WAIT.
No, I'm not feeling the bs they're on. Maybe I'd be for it if they ever showed the Emperor being genuinely in love with the Empress- and like fr him trying to defend her and worry, but it's been bare bones nothing for 80% of the story, so their reconciliation feels like a last minute "nvm, happy end for them ig". Especially after the Empress clearly voiced wanting to move on. They don't even show them warming up to each other again, just the Empress being touched that he defended her for once and said sorry.
Fr reminds me of my bestie who crawls back to her toxic ex every time he shows up at the front door with flowers.
I just started reading but HOMIE I NEED TO VENT. About Lister specifically because he's reviving my potent HATRED for tsundere coded manchildren who skip that point in puberty where they realize that bullying your crush is potent virgin behaviour. This man clearly wasn't beaten up enough bc he's got THAT type of audacity, the one which makes you want to spit on him and his grave.
A grave which I pray is built soon, and put atop of this idiot's gratefully dead body to put MC. OUT. OF. THIS. MISERY.
What is wrong with this mofo that he doesn't realize that he's spitting on a decade long friendship AND actively making his crush hate his fucking guts?
Bitch, every time he gives MC this filthy, slimey, yucky, totally dis-gus-ting look I have to withstand ancient, primal instincts to not start punching my screen. I'm puking his filthy ass vibes up I CANNOT. If I at any point was able to choose what fictional character will be shot DEAD on the spot, this poop troop baby man is one of my top 5 picks, DO NOT underestimate my disgust people.
This kind of "Hihi, I like you but I first need to make you suffer bc I need to vent my frustration over being rejected!!!"-spiel is never, will never be cute nor charming. It is the ultimate antiphasis to hot man behaviour and EVERY TIME it triggers this genetic memory of running towards the nearest bug swatter to be rid of this pest.
I have no standards for this genre, so the rape itself is whatever for me, but I still find it to be a cheap build-up. Like where is the drama? The guy literally just dragged her into a dungeon to molest her, there were so many other options to make homie loose his pants in frustration that didn't involve straight up sa, but it somehow had to be a sex dungeon scenario. He's supposed to be this super professional top of the line agent but thinks THIS is a good strategy to torture his not-wife out of militia camp. MEH.
Ah yes, driving your enemies into poverty by giving them loans they won't be able to pay off, and ofc you let them put their whole territory up for collateral, so effectively you're stripping them off their noble status and privileges. With no territory the Angenas would have no income nor estate leaving them with nothing but the title, which at that point they'd have to sell to get by. Timeless classic. And if their trading and illegal bs is uncovered with that it's like a sacred double whammy of pain.
the rating proves that a majority of readers on this site are young women and girls who do not subscribe to this type of porn manhwa lmao
I want it to be the dilf for no particular reason besides ooga booga sexy browbone
She was betrayed by those she trustedthen executed for a crime she didnt commit. But fate isnt finis...

If you're not yet jaded by all the shoujo tropes, this'll be a fine read. If you're aware of the cliches there'll be nothing here for you. There is no suspense beyond the usual fief managing girlboss perils + a bunch of other tropes (child care, side char picking up the FL's fish, etc) on top of that. The worldbuilding doesn't add anything new, neither do the characters. ML's sad boy brokenhearted vibe was refreshing but he gets over that so quick and just becomes ok. The story started feeling very whatever for me the moment that the Duke shows up and it becomes clear that the novelty ends at FL picking up after what og FL neglected. I don't find FL all that interesting either because despite being a widow (which is rare) she's just another kind and competent lady with the typical vague korean office lady background, that nowadays is an instant -5 cha for me.
That is to say, if you can't see the things I'm seeing here: good for you.
5 points for realism for making the main man in power be a psychotic egoist with mommy issues
I like how the time travel was integrated into the story. It's very cute to see FL and ML's reaction to first meeting the butler together go from "WE AINT DATING" to "yes that's my wife, moving on". The author avoided making the time shenanigans feel like a gimmick through Edwin's ghost dad.
In hindsight the revelations they're having now make me wonder wtf Edwin was even doing those first 8 or so regressions. Especially after it's shown that he did have doubts as a kid.
But yea overall I like the story. The main appeal is the romance here and I had some good yearning crying sessions. The who's-the-mastermind mystery is a bit predictable sometimes but there was enough tension to keep me interested over all.
The story has some heavy cliches, but imo this is one of those cases where they're done well bc the characters are consistent and got dimension.
Dude gave himself an instant debuff by cutting all that hair off. He left his majestic king of the merfolk vibes behind for average hot anime man looks. That's one hell of a brutal downgrade in my book.
A rogue street rat FL, delightful.
I really dig the chemistry that's building up with ML. Both of them are harshing the vibes with some of their comments, but they are building up to this cat and mouse dynamic where they try to stay ahead + clearly being good for each other despite their very fucking stark differences.
