somnia created a topic of Oh, Captain! My Captain!

It's cute and undeserving of a 8.7 rating imo, but it has its flaws. The chemistry isn't bubbling with the main couple. The structure is there, the author thought about how their relationship would develop but couldn't execute it properly. The different encounters and scenarios end up not feeling significant, like overcomplicated excuses for a will they wont they situation.
But that ain't working when the main couple's romantic feelings aren't elaborated on. Especially with dear captain commander (if you know: high five) over here his jealousy and attraction to MC just shows up. He does the romance things but we never get to see where it all comes from. In the first half he doesn't even do much besides scrowl/ignore/be petty with MC when he's jealous, which is coincidentally tragically unattractive to me ngl.

I hope the devil got the shit kicked out of him instead of the boys. I do not condone any further violence against them after all this.
It is declared illegal for all I care.

Here is my elementary criminal record: -bullying this one kid bc his dad had cleft lips, I still regret it to this day -bullying in general whenever I found someone's weakness -when a high schooler was talking smack about my clique, threatening us and shit (shared school grounds) I attacked him like a dog but it was a loosing fight so I velcro'ed ......

It might be just fiction but it's always been a pattern, not only in BL or fandoms. This type of mindset stems from the assumption that women are inately overemotional and hysterical. Every mean girl is catty and two-faced, while male bullies are coded as intimidating and tough (typically anyway). It's the same reason why Snow White's stepmother i......

both them cute and charming in their own way while also being giga suspicious - a perfect match I wager

My blood pressure is looking like the average cost of living rn, on the skyrocketing rise. I take everything back I need to rant otherwise I am not sleeping tonight.

SO many frustrating plot holes and nit picks - I LITERALLY CANNOT HANDLE THIS LEVEL OF PAIN. Someone find a way to put FL to rest so her rotting brain matter is put out of its misery.
Like obviously it's not trying to be super heavy and hihi funny BUT that is so impossible to enjoy when the narrative is so indecisive. FL sees her loved ones CRY, loosing it, and chooses to let them grief and fucks off??? I get you wanna retire after 100 bs lives where you were too stupid to kill one hoe, but it'd be very easy to just let someone in on the fact that you're very not dead and living your best life.

The worst crime is the constant jokes. It's not even funny because the story fundamentally disrespects itself and its characters at every turn. The author needs to pick a fucking side here. Either FL is an honest tough tomboy who put the suffering of 100 deaths behind her or you just wanna throw trash at the usual shoujo fantasy tropes. Both at the same time might be possible but that requires writing a good story. There is so much to pick apart here but I can't be bothered anymore.

If you don't go in brain dead for this story you WILL end up brain dead upon reading it.

His abusive relationship with his sister isn't an excuse to lie to MC but it is an explanation and a valid one if you ask me. Like ofc he won't just come clean about cheating because in an actual conversation that would require coming clean about the circumstances.
In a theoretical scenario where my own partner confesses he cheated on me because he's in a comparable situation I'm not gonna be mad because his dick was in someone else but because someone is taking advantage of him against his will.
You can't expect every person to instantly make the best choices when they're in a fucked up place mentally, that type of shit requires work and most often support.

ppl are surprised at how dumb the characters are, meanwhile I'm wondering when the author's neurons came back from vacation. Like you're trying to redeem the ML now? In the afterstory? Just let them divorce at this point lmao.

This sounds weird af but I hope the author doesn't make the young master ripped. Like, I'm so tired of the usual jacked but thin-waisted kpop looking ass body type on every male manly man of romantic importance. That's 100% a me-thing, but yk. I fear the moment he turns up, squared up looking like his dad, his personality will be nothing more than your typical obssessive ML out to get his childhood crush back at their side with nothing else to add. If he's gonna be that at least make him look more average or fem, idc.

somnia created a topic of Divorcing the Emperor

I enjoyed the read so far but I just gotta say, the emperor feels so incompetent to me. Like this homie is a dumb sword-whore that doesn't belong anywhere near a position of power. I'm not even sorry, if I had to work for that guy I'd just end it here and there bc torture victim isn't a job description I remember subscribing to.
By god I'm so out if they don't get divorced.

I'm actually trying to write a little something. (Because I want more fantasy shoujo stories that come with heavy baggage, aka lore and conspiracies my beloved) It's FL's 2nd time back in the past. In her first life she followed blindly and still died at the stake, in her second she tried to resist and make it right but was again burned. Upon her ......

My theory for now is that the monster zombie plague is manmade or (un)intentionally mutated into what is it now.
One of those "higher ups" perhaps (2nd prince party? obvious reason being get rid of the crown prince; classic), wants to intentionally create a crisis where they come out on top, or its an accidental outbreak of a bio weapon. It could be both of those at the same time too. Like all these appearences of monsters pre-apocaypse were test runs, lil accidents or simply abandoned after a successful trial. The same herb being found there strongly suggests that. If I'm recalling right these encounters so far took place where Vanilla's father noted locations on FL's blueprints (or they're locations number 2 and so on, which weren't mentioned on there. Perhaps I'll bother digging up those mentions just to see and compare).

Which brings me to this point: Vanilla's dad was somehow involved in these experiments, in whatever way shape or form. The Sinclairs too perhaps, though it's too early to tell just yet. Generally it's pretty clear that parent generation got a bunch of skeletons in the closet, Eden's dad too for sure.

Also I might be super wrong but the og FL, Aurora or what was her name, I'm certain she's a descendent from that mystic protector family Seigrave. Which is why FL's dad said to protect her - that mf knows. How? Idfk.

FL's powers seem inhuman or rather superhuman. I wonder if that was the intended or unintended result of those supposed experiments. Her dad had a shit ton of cash and desperation to cure his daughter, so he was able to come across these people and got some boosted af elixir out of it. And from there he discovered shit was about to go down along with Vanilla's dad (and some others too maybe). They planned to expose the whole operation, but bam and they were abruptly and "accidentally" put to eternal sleep. It COULD be that they were looking for ways to stop the outbreak and in the process came across Aurora, who they decided to keep safe with the Lancesters where she couldn't be harmed. Big MAYBE here. I'm heavily speculating atp.
