But i dont like how things ended up with the sister. It's really off putting when authors just sweep aside the wrong doings of abuser and make them chummy chummy with the leads. It doesn't provide genuine closure to the trauma their mcs face.

Idk if it's worth it but it revolves around the line "even something bad has goodness in it". The end doesn't change the character of the king, it gives a halfway reasonable argument for the parents actions. From what I understood the end is more of acceptance that everything happened and putting the past to rest
