The situation of Hangil is pretty shitty. Imagine you’re stuck for life with someone so sick it’s like you’re taking care of a five month old for life. That’s so shitty. You have to waste your entire life to take care of someone sick? Could never be me. Might sound like a bitch but I would never waste my life taking care of my parents like that. For my child, yes, absolutely. But for a parent? That already lived their lives? Fuck that. Look at this dudes life. Miserable his whole life because of his zombie dad. As a parent myself, I would rather die than put my kid through that misery. The top is right, sounds shitty all you want, but he’s right. He didn’t deserve to waste his life with someone who’s only purpose is to care after someone sick.
The thing is everyone thinks differently. You might not want to live your life taking care of someone like that BUT there are people who do. The thing is ML does not have the right to decide it for the MC. Me myself would take care of the rest of my mother's life even if it meant giving up a bit of my life's time. She gave up hers for me and I would do the same. It's fine if you don't agree the only part that is not fine is thinking that just bc you agree to something it means everyone should and that It is the only correct answer.

I read this story in one day. And I agree with so many comments. The wholesomeness was so forced. Dominic was a disgusting bastard. He ruined one person to the point of no return and this person tried to do the same thing to Winter as a trauma response. In the last five chapters everything felt rushed and nonsensical. You’re telling me a bastard like Dominic, who raped and manipulated Raymon his whole life, suddenly gave up because Winter took the drug for him? Just like that? An obsessive evil character like him would have just taken Raymon and ruin him further. Especially with Jason there in the room too. But Jason suddenly turned into a good guy and helped Winter and then Dominic gave up on Raymon and left them live both a happy life? No consequences whatsoever for Dominic? Nah. This story started soooo good as a twisted dark story and by the end of it was absolutely slaughtered in an attempt to justify the love between Winter and Raymon when it was only psychological dependency result of so many years of trauma the both of them went through. It came full circle in a ridiculous way. I have mixed feelings about it. It’s like “A tree without roots” but if a 15yo wrote a bad fanfic about it.
The resemblance between these three characters is uncanny with one of my favorite ships. I’m hooked! Three of my favorite characters playing in an alternative universe even more fucked up than their original setting. I love it lol

I don’t know about this one. I had high expectations. But turns out this is another one of those BL when one of the characters has an inferiority complex. And characters like that are so annoying. Plus, Hyun is a pushover doormat. There’s nothing more vibe killing in a BL than a bottom who has no voice or personality and it’s painted to be “too shy” to stand up to the top. Let’s see where it goes. At least the characters are pretty.
I remember why I dropped this story. The first couple bottom is so fucking annoying with his victim and self deprecating mentality broooooo. Yeah the couple became super wholesome bla bla bla. All because the top held onto the relationship for dear life. Because the bottom was so self absorbed in his own misery he didn’t have it in him to actually put effort in the relationship. Without the top, this story would have ended in season one.
I want more of the second couple. The characters are more complex and dynamic. They should have been the main couple. I’m so mad I picked this up again. Glad I could just scroll fast through chapters during the first couple sex scenes so I could catch up on the second couple. But instead of boring side stories of the main couple, the author should have written a side story solely focused on the second couple. This story was unnecessarily long for what it was. They liked each other and sealed the deal on chapter 30. The rest of the story was all the bottom dwelling in his wishy-washy nature and misery. I need to cleanse myself from this story. It was so annoying. Being an anti DNF puts me through so much stress but if I’m gonna be a hater I have to be able to argument why lmaoooo
I get what youbare trying to say but I think you are forgetting that the main bottom has a lot of unresolved issues. His parents died in an accident, he didn't have enough time to grieve and process that death. He got "adopted" into a nrw family but obviously ostracized by the father and manipulated by the son. The manipulative brother hung out with unsavory characters and he (main bottom) thinks that it's his fault plus the dubious consent for their first sexual encounter. The adoptive mother got sick and he somehow got relegated to taking care of the hospital bills. Yes, he has victim mentality. Yes, it is annoying especially for people who do not understand what he's going through. He has panic attacks when backed in a corner. He, himself, knows that he needs help but how can he sort himself out when he is in survival mode? The main top "carried" the relationship, yes. There's nothing wrong with that IF he (main top) wanted it.
The main bottom is exhibiting the typical behaviors or people with mental health disorders and the main top shows behaviors of the people suporting them. People who do not have mental health issues or are supporting people with mental health issues will always have a difficulty in understanding the "one step forward, two steps back" dance. It is painful. It is exhausting. It is very stressful.
The second couple is more interesting for you because they protray the typical "anger against the world" and "calming down with the right person". The "dynamic" relationship you are talking about is very similar to the main couple. The main difference is that Jinwoo is explosive whereas his brother was implosive. Explosing are always spectacular while watching paint dry is boring.
I think you just have trouble understanding that mental health journeys are not linear. This manhwa is so awesome because it doesn’t end at the “love story” it delves and explores the complex nature of the feelings the characters have for the people around them. Dojun is a realistic depiction of someone with a lot on their plate and suffering from ptsd and so many other issues. Both main characters are realistic in their own ways and show that just love with no communication, and adapting to eachother’s needs doesn’t cut it for a long lasting relationship. I think you all have problems understanding that if you’re not healed psychologically, you shouldn’t be getting into relationships. Because it’s not the partners responsibility to deal with the mental burden of their partner. Dojun didn’t have it in him to deal with a relationship. Yet he strung along the top the whole story. With his self pity and “oh no I don’t want to burden anybody” he spent every single chapter apologizing and not changing anything. It was infuriating seeing the top carrying the whole relationship the whole time. If it wasn’t for him, this story wouldn’t have lasted ten chapters. I don’t care for realistic representation of things. I read yaoi because of entertainment. If I wanted realistic representation of mental health and gay relationships, I would listen to my friends or analyze my own life. You people need to stop pushing the realistic agenda on yaoi. Yaoi wasn’t created to represent or advocate, it was created to entertain.
