I don’t recall seeing pictures but I guess author wants to draw a fresh start for the characters because she kinda insinuated at the end of the first vol that parting is not the end but rather a fresh start right.. maybe it’s a fresh start with another character, or maybe the new character is just a rival who’s gna catalyse an improvement in the rs between Shang and Mi Xi. We don’t know, guess we can only wait and see. I’m not mad at the idea of Shang having a new rs w the new character as long as the author properly account for what happened to Mi Xi.
