Y'all I cried a fcking ton reading this. Didn't expect to get so emotional on something with such a simple plot but I guess, when such care and love was poured into making the characters, one can't help but sympathize. I kid you not I cried more than the people who actually experienced the story lmao. I was crying for Lyle for all the times he wasn't able to and making a mess when he finally let out his feelings.
When he thought it was raining, and his brother and father was flabbergasted that this person who hardly changes his expression let out tears, it made me fcking sob. That instance told me a lot of things about his character without even needing the details. Such good writing!!! It evoked so many reactions from me and the thing is, it didn't need to try hard to do so. It all did was make me care about Lyle. The rest will follow. Everything he experiences, I feel like I do to. So even though I've never fallen in love, the fact that he did and got heartbroken made me hurt too.
Seriously, I really have to care about a character before I get affected and attached with their story. I can like it well enough but I still feel like a spectator if I don't. The moment I care about their dreams, hopes and pain, I'm invested, anticipating the next chapter, sacrificing my sleep and no longer a spectator but a participant in their life. I seriously fcking love reading ╥﹏╥
Anyways, Lyle's character development also made me cry. You go live your best life!!! You deserve it
If this story isn't giving what you want then find it somewhere else, cuz no matter how much y'all grumble, it won't fcking change. Mygod, there are people who like slow burn and a stress-free plot y'know? The target audience is obviously us so just piss off.

They complement each other so well. See, a good couple doesn't really have to be people of equal strength. It works as long as the other isn't a burden and the execution is good. We have this thing called character development after all. Elena truly was weak in all the ways that usually matter, but being kind is her strength. Remaining good in such a dark place needs guts imo. It's what made Sirius love her and what pushed her to do her best. Also, the only reason she seems so weak is because that place is filled with madmen. The moment she's out of that place, she shines so brilliantly and was fundamental in securing their safety. She used her powers efficiently and even managed to discover something new with it. I'm also glad she worked hard in not letting anyone knows she has it. He dad is crazy, imagine what he would do if he knows.
Reacting to things that hasn't happened yet, getting angry on your own assumptions and treating this story exactly like the others that traumatized you.
Lemme present to you the facts~
Mc ain't the ml's father. He ain't grooming him. He's even aware that Hyo-un isn't human and still treats him like a kid. He didn't take the proposal seriously cuz he doesn't see him as a potential romantic partner. Y'all keep talking about mc raising him but from what we've seen, Hyo-un is plenty independent. It's even implied that he's the one doing the work around the house, doing his best to show Taehyuk that he can take care of himself AND the person he likes. He's showing off, that's basically a form of courting, look at me I can provide for you ohmygod. Ml is the one holding the torch and I have a strong feeling he's the one who's gonna initiate the change of their relationship. You keep putting Hyo-un in the position of the victim when y'all know damn well he's a fcking dragon. He's got the advantage in everything. Since you all keep worrying about him let me be solo in my concern with Taehyuk then! Idk about y'all but it's actually more likely that he's the one who might be forced to accept a relationship. Their dynamics is skewed, it depends too much on Hyo-un's feelings, even in the future if y'all haven't noticed.Taehyuk can't properly say no and does things in a way that doesn't require direct confrontation, always compromising and giving in.
Enough of this, to everyone who actually won't be reactionary and takes the time to read then lemme recommend you something that might be misconstrued as raising the other once again but is so obviously isn't. "Paljae" is a fcking masterpiece that isn't smutty but delivers such delicious plot, angst and interesting characters. I sacrificed my sleep for this and it delivered such masterful depiction of meetings and partings and fate. If y'all know it, isn't it so fcking good ugh I can't wait for the next season!!!

I like your take about the characters break free from their shackles that the author created. I always feel there's something more beyond 'The End'. Just because the author is done telling the story doesn't always mean the story ends there. Perhaps the story still continues.

Facing a crisis (there's a fire, earthquake, an invasion, or whatever fcking disaster) while I'm taking a shower/naked as the day I was born. Poor guy is currently experiencing it right now. Imagine someone trying to murder you, it's already fcking bad but somehow you have to do it when your only form of clothing is a towel, now everything's worse. An skl but had a close experience with your fear like this when im in middle school. I was in the bathroom about to shower when there was an earthquake. Good thing for my cat to distract me that i was late in starting and was able to get out with clothes still. Still a fear tbh.
