how are none of the author's works animated already? see you later, mermaid and this manga would be visual masterpieces. i read them with the colours and fps of ghibli films in mind and it took my breath away. the writing is honest too, which is not an easy feat damn

I have! it's the first work ive ever read of the author's but this manga's and see you later, mermaid's story is superior imo, which is odd in itself bc i usually favour bl mangas with yōkai elements; that's not to say bakaneko is lacking in any way tho
holy fuck now that you mentioned it, chica umino's animated works do suit these mangas very well

okay i stand corrected. went to read bakaneko again and cried like a baby. aside from the rampant issue of overwork in japan, the author handled depression and suicide rather delicately and im just as glad as i was the first time when they weren't used as a plot device. i guess they're all superior huh

Yes! This author always handles feelings in such a delicate but real way.
Mermaid was also the first work from this author that I've read and the art is just perfect, it always makes me want to go to the beach lol
But Bakeneko is my absolutely fav of all! I also love yokai elements too, but it was so long since I've read something with this theme that made me feel the magic (for lack of a better word) of the yokai folklore so Bakeneko just hit me right, you know? (≧∀≦)

YES YES YES BL manhwa that's actually deviating from BL tropes and putting the sexuality spectrum under a microscope

spoilers ahead
the translation was crude but i got the impression that he didn't want it? and not to mention, his hands were tied in the car. But if you know Korean or had better ways to translate the raws and it wasn't rape at all, i stand corrected. And yes, they do have a good and healthy relationship despite some bumps.

Did the author change editors? If they did, whoever the new editor is, they're either old, lazy, or getting complacent since they're following such an outdated subplot:
>love triangle bait
>one or both girls gets kidnapped or threatened to trap the mc
>mc has to decide which one to save
>mc ends up saving both with a hidden trick up his sleeve.
Using vulnerable, love-smitten girls as a plot device to make a 'man' out of a boy is unnecessary and frankly, insulting to the mc's character-building
"If you truly love the author and their work, hold these people to a standard." Well fucking said, scanlator. those who refuse to do this are the same people who have no qualms about putting their own lil personal 'comedic' notes during a fkn sex scene. i mean i don't mind the memes at the end but the unprompted commentary is a bit much, as if the awful cleaning isn't enough of a distraction already. It's borderline sacrilegious, if im being honest. but hey, since this is an illegal site so i guess everything here is considered sacrilegious to the authors. STILL, restrain yourselves from treating the raws like it's your personal twitter account for fuck's sake
