I made a mistake of reading the comments before going into the 2nd season and made some nasty assumptions about Gabriel and Raphael, ESPECIALLY about Colin. But the way i see it, they're all unlikeable characters from the very start; they all have their own faults and flaws. In the end, Colin was the only one who rose through it all. I love that this author didn't write Colin as a conventional bottom who'd see the top's manipulation as a form of love or let another top's apology sway him from getting to the bottom of everything. More importantly, author wrote him as an individual with boundaries and a sense of introspection. Gabriel did not have any of those; he's mentally unstable. But traumas don't give you a pass to be an asshole and then play the victim when your plan falls through. I really hope they do but i've come to learn that it'll only come back to bite you in the ass one way or another. Anyone would love Gabriel and Raphael; they play the wounded and misunderstood leading males very well but clearly, Colin was having none of that glorified white pile of shit. And i'm here for that.
If there's anyone that i've come to genuinely hate by the end of it, it's their parents. Author-nim really went all out with their writing in the 2nd story. Now, that's what you called psychological. Edit: psychological bls doen't need to have a thriller or suspense undertone
Did the author change editors? If they did, whoever the new editor is, they're either old, lazy, or getting complacent since they're following such an outdated subplot:
>love triangle bait
>one or both girls gets kidnapped or threatened to trap the mc
>mc has to decide which one to save
>mc ends up saving both with a hidden trick up his sleeve.
Using vulnerable, love-smitten girls as a plot device to make a 'man' out of a boy is unnecessary and frankly, insulting to the mc's character-building
