I SAW THAT ONE COMING FROM A MILE BUT I STILL SCREAMED I HATE AMNESIA/BRAINWASH TROUPE IT FEELS LIKE IM READING A FANFICTION ABOUT THEM I CAN ALREADY SEE ASAMI "RESTRAINING" AKIHITO IN THE NEXT CHAPTER AND THEN TAKING HIM INTO THE MANSION TO "CURE" HIM AND THEN AKIHITO WILL "ASSASSINATE" HIM EVERY 5 SECONDS AND THEN ASAMI WILL "PUNISH" HIM FOR THAT AND THE FUCKING CYLCE GOES ON
IS IT PREDICTABLE? YES. ARE THEY MILKING IT OUT? YES. WILL IT TAKE THEM ANOTHER 500 YEARS TO RELEASE A THE NEXT CHAPTER? YES. ARE GOING TO STOP READING IT THEN? NO.

this manhwa has been completed and it was IMMACULATE. Yes, the semes are both good looking and unhinged like how all possessive and bloodthirsty semes always are. But the UKE, we all need to talk about the UKE though goddamnit - the character development is UNREAL
i had reservations about reading this because i thought the author would write the uke as the damsel in distress in an apocalypse ALWAYS getting rescued by his knights in their shining armours and feminine to the point that it's insulting (and frankly, that's only appealing to the straights) but NOOOO he was written as how someone like him would react in an inhumane environment, someone who's still clinging to his morals in the face of immoral people while constantly being shaken to the core at how they don't have a place in an apocalyptic world anymore. He is in a constant state of fear but he fights still. Later, he learned how to navigate through his moral compass and the semes taught him in their own unconventional ways (no, they didn't 'drill' the lessons into him, the semes aren't just accessory dicks)
I can sense that sum of y'all are finding the last chapter questionable and disturbing. Good. Because you should. It's rape because the consent around their bdsm play is dubious. In bdsm, it is vital for both parties that they have mutual trust and respect for each other outside and during their 'play'.
In that last chapter, it's obvious that their dynamics is dom-sub which is very common in bdsm world but what's really disturbing in the chapter is that you could already see the power imbalance between the two even though they're not in a 'play' : the bottom is subservient to the blond because he fears the seme outside AND during their plays. The seme is taking advantage of that fear to coerce the bottom into participating their 'plays' and gaslights him into thinking that the sadism is warranted.
One more thing I noticed is that they don't have safe words. Both parties should cite their safe words before they 'play' to remind each other that they have limits and that they trust each other to use their safe words when they reached them. Again, that is a sign of mutual trust and respect.
Another red flag is the seme was not in a stable state of mind when he started to 'play'. He was angry and cold at the bottom. A 'play' is a two-way street. It's an activity that's supposed to be beneficial to both parties sexually and mentally. Parties involved should always have that in mind before they 'play' but in chapter five, you could see that the seme just wanted to punish the bottom for something he had no control of. That's why it's not recommended to 'play' when one party is visibly upset because parties involved are often left physically and/or emotionally traumatised after the 'play'.
So yeah, their relationship is basically built around their bdsm kink (which is unhealthy btw, kinks should stay in your room) fueled by fear from the sub and abuse from the dom.
This manhwa has big potential. I can see it educating readers on healthy and unhealthy bdsm practices.
Thank u! Im so glad u explained this i rlly wouldnt want some readers to think this is what healthy bdsm relationships look like! u were very thorough!
Ilysm for doing this since a lot of ppl get the wrong idea of bdsm being noncon
don't mention it (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ it's the least we can do for the underaged kids in here
the fact that a fuckton of old yaoi mangas kickstarted that idea and sum of the new ones are still perpetuating it
