lil confused cause like, redhead said he was bullied by yoh but in yohs memories he seemed to be ? kind to him ? he was petting his hair and stuff ??? and holding his hand ?? idk
cat story is weird af too, cute but weird, cause he looks like a human w just ears and a tail, but doesn't speak "the human language" and was in a pet shop ?? so idk if he's a metaphor for an actual cat (in which case that's fucked up lmao) or cat-people really exist in that universe but they're treated like pets/objects (in which case that's ALSO fucked up ??)

i know this is gonna sound kinda awful but i feel like it would have more impact if hideto killed himself ya know ? like after the first chapter that's what i legit thought happened. and once it was revealed he got struck by lightning, it was just kind of .. a let down. (it would also have been more, like, challenging (? idk what word to use soz) towards how yuugen thought cause he said something about hideto being all happy and shit right ? and "enjoying life." idk would have made for an interesting juxtaposition. also a commentary on how people's appearances and actions may just be a cover for how they actually feel and think.) idk i guess the author didn't want it to be as cruel and tragic ? or didn't see it in his character to do that ? idk, just what i thought.

That wouldn't make very sense. The whole point of this is both hideto and the people who knew him having closer, because his death was so
unexpected. If he had commited suicide that would have meant that he had planned his death, and if that was the case he would have more than time to say his goodbyes and resolve all of his unfinished businness.
The whole point of hideto getting struck by lightning is to show how fragile life can be, and that really unexpected situations can happened, leaving behind all this unfinished businness that maybe at the time you didn't give them much importance but once you are confronted with your own death everything is re-evaluate.
And I think that is the real reason why hideto is "haunting" Yuugen, because he doesn't want him to die with regrets like he did.

i don't think you know how suicides can work. suicide isn't always planned. it can be a spur of the moment thing. people can get into arguments with their families or whoever and decide to kill themselves that very day. it's not uncommon. a suicide would have been even more unexpected cause no one would have thought hideto, the smiling and joyous guy, to off himself. and a lot of the time, people who commit suicide don't resolve their "unfinished business," many of them go quietly, as to not "cause a fuss," or to worry people.
i guess that could be the case ? although i cant 100% agree with you cause i've only read the two chapters supplied here.

?? i don't get what you mean by that. im saying if hideto committed suicide, it didn't have to be planned. as suicides, a lot of the times, aren't. when i said that, i was mostly referring to "telling their goodbyes" and as i said before, suicides are common to not be planned. so obviously if it wasn't planned, and just a spur of the moment thing, a reaction, he wouldn't have had time to do those things.

nah nah he got a FEVER from going to bed with his hair wet ?? like do japanese people have really shitty immune systems ?? cause i see this kind of shit EVERYWHERE in mangas. like i see characters freaking out when they're friends or s.o's get caught in the rain and i'm like ?? it's just ? some rain ?? maybe i'm just a superior being with a godly immune system ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

That's a courtesy to others - staying home when you're sick means you're less likely to infect everyone around you. Working (or going to school) when you're sick isn't impressing anyone in this culture, it's not a test of endurance, and they'd rather you stayed home than do crappy work hopped up on drugs and spread it around.
I still haven't heard anyone say definitively that people in Japan who go to sleep with wet hair or get caught in some rain get sick though - that one is just LOL.

I don't get fever from sleeping with wet hair, but I do get migraines, so I avoid doing it. As for rain, it does not happen all the time, but I did get sick from it once. But here is the thing, when I was in US, I never once gotten fever. It also hardly rains over there. But I always get fever every year in Asia, and it rains like crazy here. Maybe the difference in humidity made it easier for bacteria and virus to grow, and that is why it is easier to catch virus here.

this is why the US was so bad with covid lmao... were conditioned to endure it and go to school/work. ppl in other countries get paid sick days off and stay home bc 1. they sick 2. so they don't infect other people 3. you get paid so you dont risk losing youre effin job to a sick day. i hate america, fuck that bullshit on the "american dream" im moving to mars

You realize the comment was also made about COVID specifically, right? How Americans are lead to go into work/school even when they're sick? Regardless of any other country's condition - as this isn't a matter of better or worse in other aspects - it's true that Americans DO push through sickness to keep working (even if other countries also do). And REGARDING other countries this time - the US has the highest case count/death count by a large amount worldwide for COVID. Statistically speaking, we are doing HORRIBLE with it.
I get what you mean about Americans thinking we have it worse than we do - but the comment doesn't apply in response to canela's comment.
i give no shit if he killed people just tell me what the hell is behind that goddamn door.
