Ok it's got to be a dead lover right?
After this latest chapter it sure sounds like it.
Well he's had this weird sadness going on where he would be considered a rival...except he's been the most supportive person ever so it can't be that.
Had a few ideas going but nothing that fit. Dead lover wasn't one of them until that last chapter where he's like 'are you testing me?'. Screams dead lover to me.
I think seducing a kid who was obviously desperate for someone to understand him made him an asshole.
Trying to have sex with him, then running away without explanation made him a fucking asshole.
The cold expression that would have made a baby gay very insecure - that made him a worthless dickwad.
Ghosting him takes him to low down piece of shit.
Fucking another person knowing that the baby gay has just been heartbroken, put their faith in him, fell for him, and is currently waiting for his call...
I hear a man can survive without a penis if you use the appropriate anesthetic and surgical procedure.
It's a little too rushed and a bit all over the place because it's rushed.
But it's sweet and cute with a good couple and pretty art.
The characters are done very well. They feel like people.
It's unfortunately not the kind of manga I live for. But it's a nice read for people just looking for something cute and a sweet yaoi pairing.
I can appreciate how people could have tapped out for that. It made me uncomfortable too the first time I read it (and still does). But I think people miss things when they're angry. So I'm going to clear things up a bit here about that scene.
First, the scene wasn't pointless. That's a big deal for me. If you're going to use rape, it has to have a purpose that can only be fulfilled with a rape scene. Otherwise, I can't keep reading (nothing wrong with people who do).
The scene fit with the plot and had a purpose.
The seme has been trying, all this time, to make it clear to the uke that he's a real and flawed person. He's not a prince. He's a sexual being. Until this point, the uke has been holding him to high standards, seeing him as a prince, a saviour. The seme has been feeling used and also, like his feelings are being ignored for the image the uke has of him.
The rape is a release of all that desperation.
Now, the main issue that's brought up is the way the uke was blamed after it. I feel you. That's a big line for me.
But if you keep reading. you'll find it wasn't treated like the ukes fault.
The biggest issue with the uke was that the seme wasn't being considered as a human being with real human emotions. He was being held up on a pedastal. So he incinerated the pedastal and turned into a villain. But he knew he was in the wrong.
What is being treated like the uke's fault is what led to that breaking point. How the uke wasn't treating the seme like a person. How he was, at times knowingly, hurting him.

I think this should still be required reading. It's like taking a bunch of hilarious characters, chucking them in a bottle and giving it a good shake.
