Actually, despite this being incest yaoi, I have to admit I too find that the relationship is over-emphasized. It kind of defeats the purpose. By constantly going on about it and waving the fact in the reader's face to an unnatural degree, not only does it make the relationship feel unreal and forced, but it desensitizes people to the fact after a while. There is pretty compelling evidence that what he feels for Bum is romantic, look at ch 5 pg 91-95, this is where Sangwoo first starts to look at Bum as something more before he tests Bum's feelings in ch 8. On pg 95 you see him put his hand to his mouth and blush. The entirety of chapter 7 and 8 are about Sangwoo starting to open up to the possibility that Bum might ACTUALLY have genuine feelings for him, he doesn't trust love, he views all the women he seduces as "sluts", dirty things with ulterior motives. This is why, when Bum opens the door at the beginning of ch 8 Sangwoo gets so upset and abuses Bum again, he was testing that Bum's feelings were real, but he failed the test by opening the door. He says "that was some good acting, i almost fell for it" on ch 8, pgs 5-6. Sangwoo thinks that Bum was just lying about loving him to survive so he goes to just kill him since he'd just kept him alive because he thought he finally found someone who actually loves him and that thought haunted his every action. When he goes to kill him, Bum tries to seduce him, saying "why don't we just do something else?", he gets pissed because Bum is acting like a "slut who is just acting", which is a slap in the face since he'd essentially just had his heart broken (to him i mean, his hopes that Bum might be the one died out temporarily when he opened the door). He changes his mind about Bum "acting" towards the end of ch 8 though, he hangs Bum and doesn't expect it when, even while dying, Bum calls for HIM to save him on pg 56. You see him hear Bum call for him, his eyes widen and his heart skips a beat (it says "thump"). On pg 59 he gives in again to the possibility that Bum might have genuine feelings, he says "damn it" because he's still struggling between that thought and the thought that "it probably isn't real". He guiltily jerks off to Bum while holding him up. Now, ch 13 pgs 38-53, you see Sangwoo lose his shit because he thinks Bum ran away and feels betrayed because he thought Bum's feelings were genuine after ch 8. He literally starts shaking when he realizes Bum didn't leave, hugs him and then says "lets be together forever". Ch 19 is when Sangwoo brings Jieu for Bum to kill and ch 20 is where he says WHY he did, look at ch 19, pg 88-ch 20, pg 5. Sangwoo seems upset when Bum says "i feel nothing", this is because killing Jieu and the others was supposed to get a certain reaction from Bum, it was another test, and that reaction wasn't it. He wanted to confirm, without a shadow of a doubt, that Bum loves him, "will you still love me when faced with the reality that i kill?", that is what was in his head. You can tell because on pg 5 Bum says "By my side... I need just you!" and Sangwoo says "Haha, really? -hunches forward excitedly- You say you just want me? And you want to stay by my side? -Bum says "yes! Only you!" and Sangwoo smiles in relief- Haa... Now you're being honest with me. You don't need to say anything else, all i wanted was to know what you really wanted.". Sangwoo then goes on to say that everyone is dead "because of you", this is because he killed them to test Bum's feelings, but it's also a childish way of keeping Bum with him. He says "it's all your fault! So stay by my side!". It's like a child breaking their crush's gameboy so they'll spend more time with them, only taken to the extreme. I view this scene as the closest thing to a proposal for Sangwoo, to me he basically just asked Bum to marry him. He got him involved in the most personal, intimate part of his life and then said stay by my side. Now ch 27 pgs 21-63, you see Sangwoo get frantic when he realizes Bum is dying. In ch 35 Sangwoo first has full-on sex with Bum, on pgs 148 and 149 you can see that despite being upset with Bum and "punishing" him, Sangwoo struggles with hearing Bum tell him "i like you". Lead up to now where he's treating him like a lover.

Yep, some of the comments here are pretty simplistic, yes Sangwoo and Bum are criminals, no shit. Anyway, Sangwoo does appear very emotionally dependent on Bum, even in earlier chapters like the concert. He's not some lovey dovey man, so maybe people aren't picking up on it, as it isn't so obvious. Sang woo using sarcasm, or trying to annoy Bum seem pretty common deflection behaviours. At the end of the day Sangwoo is allowing himself to sleep next to Bum, and he waits on him, looks for him, confides with him. He knows his limits, like not being able to go down on Bum then having to go remove himself from the scene and talk about retaining some control, which gives a hint of some sort of past abuse maybe related to a sexual act. They are both two ill men, behaving like two ill men, and in a way at least they are able to understand and comfort each other.
Yeah, in the concert scene (ch 16, pgs 24-40) he gets all excited and happy when Bum says he looked cool, he lights up and goes to say "tell me more, what was so cool about me?" when Bum catches him off guard. He told Bum that he practiced SO THAT he could look cool in front of Bum and you can tell that he was wanting to milk it and listen to Bum praise him some more when Bum cuts him off mid sentence and says "i wanted to fondle you", he immediately gets horny. I love how Bum throws off his pace.
