I really don't get how the rape came into play here. At first the deal was to keep quiet about each other's secrets, those being that the uke is gay and that the seme is just pretending to want to go pro so he can live in the dorms, to which the uke refused, then the seme is just like "guess i'll have to rape you if you won't listen to me", and for what? The rape is literally inconsequential since the uke still isn't really changing the way he acted... I don't understand what the rape is doing in the seme's favor. I had thought it was to keep the seme's secret, but then the seme went to tell the uke's dad that he's gay and the uke begged him not to tell which would've been enough right then and there even without the rape for the uke to keep the seme's secret. The problem was taken care of already by the seme blackmailing the uke, the uke was initially rejecting the blackmail, but once the seme actually went to tell the uke's dad that his son is gay he accepted the terms. But even after that he still raped him? Where is the logic? He had originally said that he'd rape the uke if he didn't agree to his terms and when the uke was like "fuck off" he decided to actually call the uke's dad and tell him in front of the uke that his son is gay and the uke accepted the terms while begging him not to tell. So, what? The uke is letting the seme rape him to keep him from smoking and drinking at this point? The rape was literally pointless...
You just expressed my thoughts exactly
Yeah, but the reason he brought up raping the uke was because the uke wasn't agreeing to his terms, that was the "lack of obedience" he was referring to. The uke was initially telling the seme to fuck off, but when push came to shove as the seme was going to tell his father that his son is gay the uke begged him to "give me a break" and agreed to not tell about how the seme is lying about wanting to go pro. That's it. Problem solved. The conditions have been accepted. But... rape anyways? The seme doesn't show any attraction to men, the way he talks about how the uke is "a homo" and how "that was definitely a gay man's ass" implies, to me, that the seme my be a little prejudiced against gays and isn't gay himself; the only reason the seme even brought up raping him was to get him to "be obedient", or in other words to accept his terms. The goal had been achieved, the rape was pointless with no apparent reason for it on the seme's side.
When did that happen? That didn't happen at all... The seme never blackmailed the uke into sex, he was blackmailing him to keep the secret. The reason he initially said he was going to rape him was to make him "obedient", in other words to make the uke accept his deal to not tell about him lying about wanting to go pro.
I understood what daynight was trying to say, you aren't understanding what i was saying in response to daynight's statement. They were saying that the seme blackmailed the uke for sex, which never happened. The seme blackmailed the uke to keep the secret, not to have sex with him. As a matter of fact, the seme was threatening to RAPE him, in other words, no blackmail needed, he was intending on taking the uke against his will if the uke refused to listen to him. The entire point in my post was that there is NO reason for the rape and seemingly no coercion, the uke agrees to the seme's conditions and then they still end up having sex for seemingly no reason.
In his backstory, he learns he can control with sex, so he does. But yeah, it didn't make sense normally in any way, but to him it somehow does from a "I can control you this way" standpoint.
I think the uke was stupid to not let him stay the few months until his majority and then he would leave. So what if he was faking boxing. That was his father's issue, not his. But I guess that was to show the uke is upright--he's someone who has ethics and wouldn't let his father get tricked or boxing be used that way.
Me, I'd say, "Fine, stay here, box however you want, but if you don't prove yourself to my dad, he'll probably kick you out. So work hard, dude."
Holy shit there was some rapid development these last two chapters. -SPOILERS- Looks like Eldo is just a drive-by bitch who came in, messed things up and left after telling everyone to have a bad day... I was really hoping she'd get to be a better person while around Jumi, but i guess not... Hee Bum is in deep shit now with his dad, between his insecurity towards Yoo Won and his dad inevitably trying to break them up it looks like he's giving up being with Yoo Won and is now trying to focus on his feelings for Jumi, the kiss seemed to be testing the waters to see if he liked her romantically. He'd be able to bring Jumi in front of his dad and i personally think he loves her the same way he loves Yoo Won. I really hope Yoo Won is able to tell his mother he is gay here pretty soon, it's sad that he feels the need to lie to her. He could always adopt if she wants grandchildren and she seems very laid back so i don't see her hating homosexuals. Now that everything has been tossed up into the air, i wonder what is going to happen?
Their dynamic is so great, they fight constantly but it just makes them look closer. I feel like they don't want to look what they're both starting to feel directly in the face so they're using their art as an excuse to explore each other's bodies. What i want to know is if either of them is gay to begin with, it'd be interesting if they were both straight, but the purple, crazy haired guy looking down with his face shadowed over like that before pouncing on him made me think he might be gay. I can't wait to read more~
It's amazing that it is a real couple! Not going to lie, i find myself really jealous though. I'm waiting/praying for something like this, a real, heartfelt relationship. I feel like i'm a little too ordinary for something this good to happen to me though... Still crossing my fingers. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Same bruhs.. Same ( ̄∇ ̄")
It is really weird to me that one of the top tags for this manga is "incest". They aren't blood related and the son has had a crush on Papa since childhood, so it's not like he's ever looked at him as just a father... If the blood relation isn't there and the familial bond isn't there, in a sense, then where is the incest?
I mean, not technically speaking, but it's still gross. He raised him. The familial bond is there, even if it's one sided.
At the beginning of one of the more recent chapters it tells us that we are going to see Papas feelings here pretty soon, so we dont know that he even DOES just look at him as his child. I mean, the over protectiveness COULD just be parental concern, or it could be the possessiveness of a seme. The papa look alike implied that the feelings might be mutual between the two when he compared Ryuu dating someone who looks like his father to Papas over protectiveness.
i dont know man, even if they aren't related by blood, they are still family, i mean the man freakin raised the boy and all.. so it's just wrong to change that relationship to lover.. think about usagi drop (if u ever read the manga or watch the anime).. in the end the girl ends up with the father and ALMOST EVERYONE HATES THE ENDING.. i mean it's gross.. well maybe it's just me, maybe this incest-ish relationship isn't my kinda cup of tea.. sorry for rambling ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Oh, no that's fine. I'm not really sure WHAT'S going on, i was just thinking that maybe it wasn't quite just 'family' that Papas been feeling towards Ryuu for a while now. What i was saying is that while reading this we saw how the two interacted and because of the background given to us (them being a family with Ryuu thinking his crush on Papa is hopeless) we assumed that these interactions were just between a father and son, but the Papa look-alike was insinuating that their relationship wasn't as clear cut as that and made it seem like Papa was actually feeling more than just paternal feelings towards Ryuu. Papa look-alike was saying that Papa's possessiveness isn't normal between a father and son.
Here's the character development i've been waiting for, now i can genuinely hope for all three of them to be happy rather than for Hee Bum and Jumi to be happy and Yoo Won to just fade out. It was all about Hee Bum and Jumi for a while there with just occasional talks with Yoo Won so i was starting to hope Hee Bum and Jumi would be happy, then Yoo Won came in like a wrecking ball, got back with Hee Bum and is now revealed to have been trying to take care of his sick mother since a long time ago... Dammit, now i don't know WHAT i want to happen... i'm right back to square one hoping that somehow EVERYONE will be happy. I feel bad for Yoo Won, but at the same time i feel really sorry for Jumi and Hee Bum for being dragged along by him despite their own problem. Jumi still isn't over Hee Bum so it's sad that she has to be involved in situations like this and Hee Bum is Yoo Won's boyfriend being introduced to Mother as a hoobae... WHILE his boyfriend is pretending to have a girlfriend for the sake of "normality"... with Jumi, who Hee Bum knows is in love with him. All three of them have it pretty rough...

I see a few people disturbed by the "rapes" (?), but i don't personally find them disturbing. 99% of the uke's dialogue has been about how much he loves the seme, and while during the "wet dream" scene (i think it was real, not a dream. The seme mentions "taking advantage of him while he's drunk" and i think he is referencing this scene) the uke does get embarrassed, it's more of because he had a wet dream about his friend on his friend's bed as apposed to feeling uncomfortable with the topic of his dream. I don't think the uke is opposed to the idea of sex with the seme in the first place, despite him saying he "wasn't sure he'd be able to do it". I guess what i'm saying is that while the uke WAS drunk and unconscious both times, i don't feel like he was unwilling. The seme DOES come across very creepy/rapey in hindsight though... at the time you don't think much about it because he's hot, treats the uke well and the uke is SO into him so you just feel happy for the uke, but if you really think about it and the implications, the seme purposefully got the uke drunk with the intentions to fuck him while incapacitated. He even admits to it when he says he thought it was fun "taking advantage of him when he was drunk". It also seems like he doesn't realize how the uke feels about him, in all the seme's internal dialogue it just shows how he thinks the uke is "cute", in other words he made the conscious decision to get the uke drunk and have sex with him not because he knew the uke likes him, but because he himself wanted to. I'm honestly going to rate this 5 stars and mean it. The pacing was amazing, the characters were genuinely interesting,i love the two as a couple as they were so lovey-dovey even before becoming an actual couple, the art is great and the plot is solid. I loved it.
