I don't get it

when you like someone, it’s easy to say that getting into a relationship is the natural next step, js follow your feelings and go for it. but the truth is, feelings alone aren’t enough to sustain a long-term, happy relationship. as u mentioned , “if you like them, you like them,” as if it’s that simple. but saying those words can set a lot of things in motion, sometimes in ways you’re not prepared for.

i haven't been in touch w/ this manhwa so im not sure whats rlly up but what if they do get together, but somewhere along the way, one of them realizes they never truly thought it through? that it was more impulse than intention? now it’s not just a lover you’re losing, but a friend too. it’s not abt being indecisive, it just nvr hurt to be more careful also considering what’s at stake lol n the mc was nvr gay (as far as i know correct me if im wrong) to begin with, u dont expect smn to take it at the ass n call it a day w/o mulling abt it, n what society thinks too. it is that complicated.

Im not really saying they have to be together. Im saying that if you like a person you will know immediately. Not necessarily have a relationship with them. But you know in yourself you like them

sure, let’s take the rs out of the picture for a sec. even then, him being unsure about something as delicate as feelings (since not only mc can be affected but the other party too) is completely valid. ppl act like liking someone is always black and white, but it’s not. feelings can be confusing, especially when pressure builds to define them fast. (this sht is a slowburn too, the essence is too move slow not fast) and in this case, it’s even more complex, he was a straight man, or at least someone who only ever experienced straight relationships. stepping into something that’s totally new, like being gay, can bring up all kinds of unfamiliar emotions and uncertainty. saying “i’m not sure” isn’t him being dubious, it’s him trying to be careful, to not hurt anyone by pretending he’s ready for something he’s still trying to understand.

even if it’s not about confessing to the other person, just admitting it to urself is already a huge thing, n it’s not as easy as people make it sound. realizing you might have feelings, especially when they go against what u’ve always known or expected of urself, can be overwhelming. it’s not just a switch you flip and go, “oh okay, i like them.”

there’s confusion, denial or even fear. especially for someone who’s only ever identified as straight, catching feelings for someone of the same gender can shake up their entire understanding of who they are n he's the older one here, it’s better to be more responsiblw. so yeahh, “i’m not sure” might sound like avoidance to some, but it’s part of the process. it’s a step. ppl forget that emotional clarity doesn’t always come fast, and rushing it can do more harm than good.

Please try reading it again when it's done, I think that what she's doing is not dumb, but the exact opposite (I don't want to spoiler so I won't go into details), the decision that she made are based on the choices that she made observing the other conditions.
