As someone who had family issues, traumas etc in and out of family.. time and again, what happened to you is not your fault but how you decide to live your life after you've released yourself physically from all the torment and all those people who hurt you, they're all your decisions. The kings past was miserable, but now that he is king, now that he rules people and lands, how he decide to cope with his past and the sufferings its still giving him now, he has a decision whether to live in the past or move forward. Thats all i can say.
