Refreshing really is the word for it, the displays of intimacy are so unique here, that it just hits you like a sack of wet bricks. And great art!
AAARGRGHHHHH MOST PEOPLE WON'T CLICK ON THIS BECAUSE THERE'S A BUSTY ANIME GIRL ON THE COVER. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE DOOMED BY NARRATIVE YAOI AAAAAAARGHHHHHHH
Unpopular opinion, but this bdsm plot point sucks ass.
Lyle is the most repressed and overthinking character in yaoi history, it literally would have been so easy to write the smut as Ash freeing him from his repression by exploring his masochistic side together. It would've been a great way to show Lyle actually communicating what he wants.
Instead, because God forbid we treat Lyle as a grown man and not a naive schoolgirl, he is roped into it, because he feels bad. If you want to make Lyle seem into it, why write him bring scared that Ash is going to leave him, if he doesn't do well? Of you want to make it seem consensual, why say that Ash picked a safe word, that he knows Lyle would never say?? If you want to write Ash as a kind lover, why doesn't he explain anything, except for that it's just roleplay, beforehand?? I can totally see the forever overthinking Lyle thinking that the roleplay is the punishment and not that the punishment is part of the roleplay. "I really upset Ash, better to bear with this even if I don't like it, as I don't want him to leave me" tell me it doesn't sound like it.
Idk, I don't want to come across as "This yaoi is problematic?!!!!!??!1111", but it just feels lame to not give Lyle any agency in his sex life at all, especially considering his entire backstory. I want a honest masochist goddammit! If I wanted a story about someone in love trying not to get abandoned by a sadist, I'd just read Aporia (Shit's fire 10/10)
Surprisingly really good. At the start the mc can sometimes look kind of goofy, but the artist is really finding their footing and as the series goes on, the art style becomes more refined, interesting and consistent. Not getting rid of the massive manhwa man tits, but the faces keep looking better and better.
Budget on drawing the most yaoi-est of expressions ever made + blush +saliva: Quadrillion billion dollars
Budget on drawing shoes: Don't worry about it.
Damn, that'd be a really good point, if Dr. Seok thought that the Serpent was a good person, instead of just being generally suspicious of the lies he's been told at Rainbow city. Oh well, perhaps this brutal display of superiority and apathy will make him realize how nice the city is, instead of making him realize that major Kwak isn't his ally and that he needs to be more secretive and act in a riskier way than he has up to this point. Btw Dr. Seok Are you still carrying that rock with you. Can you aim.
I don't think this story will live up to it's full potential...The romance parts are great, the friendships are great, the comedy is great and the family bonding is wonderful, but it seems like the author is completely disinterested in exploring nuances of the setting. Like if you actually think about the plot for a second your brain will start to hurt.
The main dogma of this manga is that peace is good and worth preserving. Is mangago user Abel☆Lied about to tell you that peace isn't good? No, of course not, but I think we can agree that this chapter is a little weird right?? That the fact that the author portrays any dissent against the government as stupid and malicious is weird right??
Why ARE these characters always portrayed this way here?? Like their issues and problems with the country are moronic? If Twilight and Yuri held these beliefs, it'd be good storytelling, but the narrative continues to treat them as these evil idiots, even though it's obvious that there's tons of these people.
Literally nobody asked the author to make one of the main reoccurring characters a gestapo member, I don't know why they wrote it that way, if they weren't willing to deal with the implications of it. The implications of the country our protagonist is protecting having a secret police. Was the problem with the cold war that USSR's citizens just were too dissident??
Please please please plsepleaeeeeese pleassseeee most ficked up bisexual trio. Pleaaassee
(I love the plot, art and characters so far!)
Dw babygirl, you don't know this yet, but I know you're in a yaoi manhwa with the guy you like and you on the cover, so it's probably gonna be fine
The cover art is lying, she doesn't have bangs, she'd be far too powerful otherwise.
The title is antidote. Their meeting is the antidote. As in, their meeting is what stops the poison. The poison in the medicine, that he can stop taking after meeting Gjord.
I think most people, me included, already thought that the pills are causing his amnesia, but this means not only that this was a deliberate harm, but it's also going to be the central focus of this story (as in who's the mastermind, why are they doing that, what happened in the past, how has this gone on so long, when did something change)
