Lol, well that explains it. Imagine you're the most insecure man alive and you're in love with royalty, who you basically serve. Imagine that the royalty prefers the most hated slave in the kingdom over you. Imagine that they fall in love. Imagine that even in his most powerless, humiliated and confused state, he still prefers his old love over you. What a loser.
I understand it's supposed to be a cute scene, but... Idk I just find it weird when characters in a romance story are jealous of children. Like oooooh watch out, this eight year old is coming to steal your bf.
Girls start dating two chapters ago and are already in the "Wow, I love your hands <33 ((such long fingers))" "I can show them to you any time<333 ((and what I can do with them))" phase. Crazy. The wedding is gonna happen in ten chapters.
Girl, they didn't say all that in under five seconds
Yeeeessss, every good smut artist know it's not the dicks and butts that make a sex scene, but the crazy expressions and sudden breaking of pace. It works every damn time when artists do that "his eyes go black and tiny and be starts ranting possessively in his head"
They're just chilling, man. Just vibing. None of that political trickery or monster hunting or traumatic family coming to hunt them. Not even interpersonal drama. They love each other and just enjoy having a grand old time. I love that for them.
Prince, I've got just the thing your fiance desperately wants: a suffragette movement
Man, I love me some morally bankrupt, cruel and heartless characters, it's what makes them interesting and it's especially cool when you can see how their difficult life and terrible world shaped them. anyway, can't wait to discuss this intriguing character with my fellow readers on mangago.zone, who surely won't say dumbass shit like killing children and servants is the only reasonable course of actions and Abel is a stupid idiot for getting in the way.
I thought there was some big brained scheming ahead, that'd make this coal mine plot make sense, but no, he's just being a dick. The art is gorgeous, but not enough to make read a hundred chapters of a sympathetic character being treated cruelly and end up with a cheater, rapist asshole. Anyway, if you like the plot of a deposed royalty being abused and enslaved, only for a long lost love to come and save them from their predicament through scheming and power, but you actually want the love interest to be good chill guy, I'd recommend Antidote. It's BL and I think the art might be even better.
Please don't turn him into a generic smug evil jerk. I'm not saying this out of some "uwu wholesome romance <3333" reason, but because that'd be genuinely less interesting than the character we've set up. I like that Guwon, no matter what you think about the honesty of his words and actions, seemed honest in following his desires. I think it really worked to make a scary kind of character not seen in these stories, an animalistic desire led man. I like the duality it gave him: following his desires can be super sexy or horrifying. Being casual about human relationship can be relieving and mortifying, once one of those relationships goes against what he wants.
I don't mind if he's a schemer, a liar and a cruel guy, but if his whole demeanor was a facade, then that just makes him infinitely less interesting to me. PLEAAASSEEE I DON'T WANT ANOTHER CEO ALPHA MALE MAFIA BOSS PLEAAAAASEEEEEEE. Give me a monster among men, a monster so impressive, that he doesn't need to play anything up to get control over the situation.
"He's doing this to protect Dr. Seok<3333" Yeah, I guess in a way. Like a bird in a cage is safe. Idk I feel like we shouldn't really ignore the brutality on display. There's a big difference between "Kwak puts on a show, that'd allow Seok to escape with his life" and "Kwak tries to traumatize him to the point, he'll never resist again". One views Seok as a person to help and the other as an object to keep. He didn't just threatened his life, he dragged him around and threw decomposing things at him and then threatened to rape him, because yes, that is what it was. Idk just acting like he's this poor victimized baby who has no other choice is pissing me off.
I love you Penelope, my favorite mentally ill protag, but perhaps this isn't a good idea? To push someone who suggested they'd get rid of your entire family for you?? This will have consequences, that we are desperately trying not to have???
YIPPPEEEEE RON AND BEACROX AND RON AND BEACROX AND BEACROX AND VEACROX YAAAAAAAY
I do really like this, but I feel like the gap between a servant and a noble is the crux of the story and unlike with Vincent, we don't ever see it with the other characters. It makes the story feel a bit childish in comparison to the start, when Violet drags her around like a friend and Lucas kisses her on the cheek. At the start, the tone and setting were presented so that we would feel like Paula is constantly in danger for her life. Like pride as a noble is something that'd make a person live in isolation rather than face help from servants. Those were interesting themes, and they played into the romance so nicely, so I'm not sure why it's necessary to act now like nobles are totally chill with befriending servants and be seen befriending servants. Why Paula is suddenly okay with being treated as of more importance than two noble sons and arguing with nobles in private. Again, I get it with Vincent, but for the others it seems rushed and portraying them as closer to Paula than Vincent takes away from the main relationship.
Also: Is Paula ugly or not??? There are people saying "Of course she is ugly! The artist just draws her pretty. Learn to read <3" which 1.) would just make the art lead a coward and wouldn't make the reader stupid for being confused as to why X is portrayed as Y and 2.) Is just not true right???? Violet and Lucas never once treat her as though she's ugly. There's not even a scorn at the start. But the villagers at the start treat her as though she's disfigured in a sickly way, so why is it so??? It's fine if Paula doesn't know, but we should right?
Guys oh my goooooood, why is this artist so good at drawing women. Why are they all so gorgeous and cute and beautiful. WHYYYYYY HAVEN'T THEY PUBLISHED YURIIIIII.....Arghhhhh so gorgeous:,(((
