It’s actually a decent translation and I think they do a good job showing just how crazy Kangwoo is and how he’s slowly stripping Heewon of his autonomy. Also I don’t ever think the relationship gets “better”, just Heewon gets better at reading Kangwoo’s moods and obeys more frequently, less verbal resistance. This will never, ever, be a consensual, healthy relationship. The threat of violence is ALWAYS there.

What is with the trope of the uke falling for the rapist seme just because the rape was eventually “gentle” one time. Like, they didn’t spend ANY quality time together, uke asked basically 0 questions about his deceased wife. He doesn’t do anything to protect his daughter even when it’s obvious he’s being stalked.
Stalker plot goes nowhere, could write the daughter out, change dead wife to any other family member leaving a debt, and the plot would not change. Also chap 3 confirms the first rape scene was pure spite on the seme’s part. And he’s not going to have a redemption arc bc he’s been magically forgiven. Uke falling for seme makes 0 sense, we don’t see it happen, he just randomly starts loving the seme. UGH why did the old man yakuza story have to have bad writing! I don’t mind assault in manga so long as it’s handled well or there’s an actual redemption, but this one just had waved it away in chap 3 like it didn’t matter.

It means I don’t immediately shut a story down or stop reading if assault is included in the narrative, but instead look at the context within the story and how the author utilizes the trope in their work. Is it just a cheap tactic to have the main couple bang or is there more nuance/is it “handled well”. The best BL example is Back To School, the mc is assaulted, but there is No forgiveness and it shows the mental toll an assault can have on a victim.

Raws up to chapter 8 and seme is 100% irredeemable. ONLY good ending is the one where he and everyone in his group dies. There’s no coming back from what he did. Easily gotta be the most ffed up thing this author has written. And that says a LOT.

Just gonna say since there's zom Zom there's some gore and uke got fuck till he bleed here and there.

Always a red flag in these things when they don’t say “I like you back”. Bet uke is gonna overhear/learn seme was a playboy in the gay scene, he probably just wanted to try and top the school’s biggest playboy or something, and we’re gonna get drama. Tho from how simple and easy to manipulate this uke is, I doubt it will last long. Uke gonna have the same amount of self-respect when it comes to the seme as the one from Bad Plan (ie none).
If proven wrong I’ll delete this AND post another eating my words.

Was kind of funny listening to his POV like “they have no loyalty” BITCH why would they??? The gym does NOTHING to reign in horse’s temper and he proactively treated all the other members like shit. The gym enabled that behavior and rarely called him out whenever he would take his temper out on the junior members. WHO are they supposed to remain “loyal” to??? The bigger surprise was that they didn’t jump ship sooner.
If potato isn’t careful, he’ll became the author’s next brainless simp, doormat uke. He has the qualities.

I can totally understand them like leave about being friendly and kind JJK refuses to give them the BARE MINIMUM RESPECT as fellow athletes. Why would anyone stay in a gym where they are constantly getting hassled by a pro player for no reason whatsoever but only for the bully horse to feel superior.

Could have worked if the uke had even a small, tiny, pindrop’s worth of self-respect, but he doesn’t. Just a doormat, the worst kind of simp. And he doesn’t change. It’s so boring reading from his perspective, but also aggravating. Oh, I passed out after being raped and messed up your, my rapist and kidnapper’s, work schedule? I’m sooo sorry, I was the the one at fault. Like ugh. He never seriously tries to escape or call out the seme on his bullshit. Also uke was never, ever serious or even trying to get revenge for his friend. Wasted plot point.
If you enjoy a seme’s whipping their shit and cum stained shoes on a doormat of an uke, this is the story for you!

So ML just admitted to hiring men to gang-rape and film one of the debtors and we’re supposed to want him and MC to end up together? Absolutely not.

but that wouldn't get you any money, you'd legit be harming people for your own self satisfaction. Also you can't depend on someone having people close enough for you to do such things. Don't try to defend the ml's actions but then turn around and say you'd never do such a thing. It just makes you look like an edgy teenager.

usually they rather pay up and get the money through other means if it means his loved ones have to suffer in his place xd
if youre a loan shark u usually know stuff about your customers and how to threaten them, how to push the right buttons when you want your money back.
I'm not defending the ml's actions at all lol
never said i think hes in the right or did well? why are you changing the topic?
I just think he could have done way worse things ^^ as a rape victim myself 12 years ago, when I was 15 years young I know how bad it is in REALITY. but that's probably the reason why I can draw a perfect line between fiction and reality. :)
Bruh, he literally framed her for murder, leading her to be locked in prison, only so he could pretend to save her. He goes WAY beyond tsundere. Abandoning her after the miscarriage was the final straw. He is in no way a good spouse and his needs and wants have ALWAYS come before hers. He’s selfish, manipulative, and doesn’t care about hurting or humiliating her if it serves his ends. He was in no way a good spouse and her “sticking” by him would lead to no character growth what with the power imbalance.
Him essentially getting dumped by her and experiencing her loss, and now needing to work all over again for her affection, her now fully aware of how twisted he is, is likely the only way he was ever going to learn and grow to be an actually halfway decent partner. People have got to stop downplaying how awful he was just because he’s hot.
well i still don't hate him cuz y'know it is fiction characters are designed so that humans could feel emotions. I am aware these kind of situations might have happened before, during the present or in the future but im only referring to the story i will not make any arguments about anything in real life.
even if it’s fiction you can’t deny what he has done for the sake of his ‘love’ is plain evil
i mean, im not denying it. MY OPINION BTW, my opinion don't stand for others it only stands for me, you are free to have your own opinion and perspective because i believe every human is different. Just for me I don't take it too seriously since the story is fiction and everything that happened in the story stays in the story, it can be a portrayal of real life but my opinion i just solely based on what i think about the story and the characters, and I don't know how to word this politely but " I don't think of these story as true, and that my opinion on real life toxicity and violence is different." I hope i was able to convey my message with clarity.
i’m not sure i really understand how someone wouldn’t feel negatively towards an evil person regardless of if they are fictional or not.
it's not that I don't feel negatively, it's that I don't hate the character, since hating is kind of different from feeling negatively, you are free to hate the character but that doesn't mean i have to hate the character as well.
ohhhh i see. i think this is a case of hating the person but not the character?
huh? I'm not fully understanding what you mean, but sure (=・ω・=)
oh it’s no problem. i can just give a short explanation. an example would be hating the PERSON’s actions/personality but liking the element that the CHARACTER adds to the story
yeah, thats what I meant by saying I don't hate hum but i do feel negatively about the character. (=・ω・=)
